Anthony Perkins' performance has got to give Psycho II the edge.

i'll take a campy horror movie with a ridiculous premise every day of the week over yet another regurgitation of the exact same movie over and over and over and over again like the rest of the Halloween sequels.

Yeah, but if you are going to see a Halloween movie, much like a Friday the 13th movie, you know what to expect. If you are going to change it up, that's fine, but you still have to integrate the main character in some way. No one goes to see Halloween, Friday, or Nightmare, with out seeing Mike, Jason, and Freddy.

they had wanted to turn the halloween series into a string of serials that shared only the name. Obviously it didn't work but I like that kind of thinking and also the movie itself because of how batshit ridiculous it is

I agree, it's good thinking, but hard to pull off in mainstream cinema. People get too attached to characters, whether they are the good guys or villains.

I kind of dig Halloween 3.

If you can divorce yourself from the need for Micheal Meyers its actually a semi interesting flick.

Plus its one of the few horror movies that has no problems killing a little kid.

Even Jason didn't do that.

Stephen King didn't mind killing little kids.

True, but most horror movies won't go there.

I'll usually give points to movies with the balls to do it.

I agree. Truly the best horror movies are the ones that cross lines.

I completely agree.

Halloween III is criminally underrated. It just gets bad rep because of the title and having no connections to the first two. Shame.

They should have done this with the 2nd one then and they could have possibly accomplished their mission. After 2 straight films incorporating Michael Meyers, that was what Halloween had become.
