Would put Guardians of the Galaxy above the first Avengers but otherwise I agree. In any of those other movies the villains pose a bigger threat and there's more at stake than in the 2 Avengers movies.

Everything after 4 (except for AoU because haven't seen) have sucked to me.

I saw it today. I found it pretty underwhelming.

I agree with most of this, except I enjoyed Iron Man 3 more than most. And WS is an A+ for me.

Is any background needed for that movie? I haven't seen any of the MCU except maybe Iron Man. Could I watch Winter Soldier without confusion? It gets a lot of praise.

I would watch Cap 1, The Avengers, then Cap 2. If you can make it through, . If not, I think you need to at least watch Cap 1 to find out where he came from.

Oh wow worse than Captain America 1?!? That's really disheartening, I had high hopes for Ultron.

You could watch it as a stand alone movie and it would be fine, it is awesome.

Captain America TWS - A
GOTG - B
Iron Man - B
Avengers AOU - B-

The rest - who cares.

I'm sure I'll be labeled a troll, but that's honestly how I feel. Most of these films have been forgettable and I honestly don't get all the hype.

What do they all have in common? Shitty, laughably impotent villains.

DISCLAIMER: I haven't seen Age of Ultron yet, so I'm hoping they've finally delivered a legit villain.

IMO yes because the villains and their henchmen were pretty underwhelming. The biggest threat in the 2 Avengers movies has been the nuke fired at the end of Avengers and that was fired by SHIELD. idk maybe it's because marvel has taken away any sort of tension and doubt by releasing the damn schedule for all their future movies, so we know that the good guys always prevail.

I gave Age of Ultron a second viewing and its not nearly as bad or underwhelming as I previously thought. Its really not that bad.

Its better than Iron Man 2, the Hulk, Iron Man 3 and Thor the Dark World, but its not even close to being on the Iron Man 1, Guardians, Winter Solider tier.

Its right in the middle With Thor1 and Cap 1, so yeah I guess a little underwhelming considering how awesome Avengers was, but its worth the watch.

My first impression and I just left the theater an hour ago was it was as good as the 1st Avengers. Not being saddled with back story or how they get together stuff made it a quicker pace.

Neither of those movies are dogshit. Thor can be pretty average but it's still fun, and Cap 1 is flawed but has moments of genuine greatness.
