Meh, the new Red Dawn isn't horrible. The original Red Dawn wasn't that good, so it isn't like the remake had anything to live up to.

Since this thread was bumped -

I finally did see the new Red Dawn. It wasn't as much of a total piece of shite as I thought it was going to be, but it was still completely unnecessary.

I have no interest in seeing Point Break 2015.

Point Break is neck and neck with Ben Hur for most unnecessary remake of the last few years. The only reason the original works is because Patrick Swayze oozed charisma (and Keanu and Busey were hysterical). But it wasn't famous for its plot or characters... it was famous for some great performances. that's precisely the film you shouldn't remake, because you're not going to top those performances.

Also, we treated it the correct way as a culture: by totally ignoring it. Much like the Robocop remake. Or Ben Hur. In 5 years, we'll totally forget they even had remakes, while people will still be dropping into threads to bitch about Ghostbusters. Seriously. We get it. Now, STFU.

Then I've saved you before it got too late. Worst movie I've seen, not just this year, but ever.

I actually think the original is dumb and not worthy of having a remake.

I defended the Ben Hur movie Bc I enjoyed it and it had been since 1959. I don't know why a Point Break remake was made.

I don't know about that. In the years to come, people will hear about these classic movies and when they go to find them, many will discover the piece of shite remakes, assuming those to be what they'd been told about.

Ben Hur is one of the best screenplays ever written, and an epic classic. 30 years from now, some guy is going to hear that and incorrectly watch the shitty remake instead of the original, classic version.

I didn't think it was that bad. It had a different spin so I thought that was cool. Wasn't a great movie, but at least it wasn't as bad as Suicide Squad. Not even nearly as bad.

I haven't seen it but I can't believe it could possibly be worse than the original.

I didn't think it was that bad either. I mean the original was pretty bad, so it didn't have much to work with.

It was so bad i enjoyed it. Watched it twice in 5 days because it was on HBO and the rest of my cable sucks.

I'm not on a mission to complete the Ozaki 8. Hopefully I can knock out 2 if this hurricane situation materializes.

Watched this last week and thought the action scenes and inclusion of snow boarding were cool, but overall it wasn't very good.

I hadn't seen the original so I checked that one out and as per usual, it's way better than the remake. Keanu, Swayze, & Busey were all great in it and the story was much better imo.
