I always forget how much I love these movies. There was a marathon on the other night and I was crying I was laughing so hard. Peter Sellers was a phenomenal actor.

"Does your dog bite?"
"No."
[Clouseau attempts to pet dog, which tries to bite him]
"I thought you said your dog did not bite?"
"That is not my dog."

Clouseau is one of my all-time favorite characters. Sellers was a bona fide genius.

His ability to play the role without just being "silly" is what amazes me so much.

Cato, there is a time and a place.... this is it.

He has the brain of a minkey.

Who knows what his fiendish yellow mind is thinking up now.

Every single character in every single one of those movies plays it completely deadpan. They somehow manage to deliver the stupidest, most ridiculous lines with all the seriousness of a grim noir thriller. That's what makes them so hilarious.
