Tyra/Landry murder arc from Friday Night Lights.
Season 2 of The Wire almost lost me -- so glad I pushed through, 3 & 4 were greatness.
good calls. Wire season 2 got better with more viewings, and the dock workers were an important part of the city structure they expanded later on. after season 1, it was kind of a strange follow up.
and the whole lance/tyra storyline...turrible.

Chuck was about the only show not hurt by the writers strike.

You can't say it brought the series down a notch because the bar hadn't been set yet, but season 1 of Parks & Rec is significantly worse than the other seasons.
I thought this season of The League was poor compared to the rest.

Also season 2 of Walking dead made me stop watching, though I'm told I need to pick it back up and push through

Season 7 was after the writer's strike.
I'd still say Season 6 though to answer the OP's question. The plot, setting, characters were all the same from past seasons.

This season of Dexter
This season was better than last year and probably better than 5 as well.

its only 6 eps.
they definitely are finding their way early, but its worth checking out as long as you keep watching, cause it gets much better.

Season 3 of Deadwood (because of the too often featured acting troupe)
I thought so at first too but Jack Languish's dialogue is superb and I missed how important he really was initially.
