PG-13 movies and let down

So I saw an AD for exodus and was really excited for it, but now I see that it's pg-13 and am really bummed out. Is this a legitimate gripe?

Some films lately have done some amazing things with a PG-13 rating.

I don't think so. Good movies are good movies no matter what they are rated. Also they let a lot things go in PG-13 movies now.
Guardians of the Galaxy is an example of a great recent PG-13 movie.

If you were expecting lots of boobs and gory violence, then yes you should be disappointed. It doesn't look like the type of movie that needs all that though.

It's legit for comedies and dramas IMO
