So I'm running through this show on netflix and only have a few eps left in season 6. Things have unfortuantely taken a sad turn overall, as you have chris and anne moving away from pawnee, tom is branching out on his own, ron is now married with child, leslie is looking elsewhere, etc. I know it's a part of life (and tv shows) but it's still kinda sad the way the ol gang is breaking up.

So I was looking around and I didnt' even realize until this mornign that there's actually 7 seasons. Netflix only has through 6, so I guess I just assumed that was it. How woudl yall compare 6/7 to the rest of the series? Do they stack up just as well?

7 is good, but it is basically a victory lap for the show. I loved the season 6 finale, and I think the show could have ended on it.

Seemed obvious they weren't sure if they'd be back for a season 7.

However, I'm glad they got the extra season....moar parks and rec!

I still enjoyed 6 and 7, while I don't think they stack up to the greatness of S2-5 time frame, the final two seasons had some funny episodes. I just don't think it had the consistency of the earlier season. Going 7 seasons in a comedy show I guess that can be expected though.

The only thing I really hated in the last two seasons was Craig the screaming guy. He was an awful, awful character to me. Needed less Craig and more Jean Ralphio.

Like someone said, the ending to Season 6 would have been a great series finale, but they did a good job wrapping everything up in season 7.

ok cool. hopefully s7 is on netflix soon. And yeah craig is the worst. How could such a great team of writers/directors think that that was a good idea?

In addition to JR, there's definitely one other character I could use far more of..

Councilman Jamm. That guy rocks.

He was awesome. Jean Ralphio bothered me though.

This. They must have heard the feedback on the character, because it seems they dialed him down a bit after a while.

I like 7. The goofy tech gadgets are funny. Amazon drone delivery.

They dialed down Mr. Screamy.

I started a rewatch over the weekend and I'm up to end of season 3.

THIS THIS DAMMIT THIS.

I just watched the whole Netflix run and season 6 was a bit of a let down. Overall it was a good season, and changes are to be expected, but that Craig guy was annoying, unfunny, and just unbelievable as a real person. Every scene he was in looked a bad college improve comedy sketch.

Like I said it's still great TV, but I'm a sucker for serious/sad things in comedies. I don't like it. Everyone's all sad and crying with everyone splitting up and I'm like hey, c'mon this isn't funny.

This. Watched all 6 on Netflix.

Unity Concert (that included a final Bye Bye Lil Sebastian and Ron coming out as Duke Silver)
Leslie had her kids, a federal government job, got to stay in Pawnee
Chris and Anne had already left
Larry / Terry moved up with them
Ron had settled down
Tom had a restaurant

When I was done with season 6 I thought I was done. That was a couple of months ago and just realized last week that there was a season 7.

Same, but because I am a huge House of Lies fan on Showtime, and he is one of the main characters on it and is a pretty serious character in a consultant firm and one of the main characters. So it was annoying seeing him play who he was on Parks, and his sister on Parks, is also on HoL and is married to the other consultant. shite was weird.

Also probably why they weren't on Parks too much, they were on at almost the same time of the year, so probably a lot of scheduling conflicts.

Nah, I'll just catch it when it comes on Netflix. Glad to hear people have enjoyed it though. Scrubs went one season too far after a great finale.

No. He is only good in small doses.

I really don't remember hating screamy in season 7. Also think they wrote better for him in season 7.

Should know by the end of the weekend if I feel the same way after my rewatch.

S7 was solid, the finale made me fight back some serious tears. Especially with Ron's ending

Agreed, the same for Jamm for me. I just don't get why so many people loved his character.

Actually, most of the characters on the show were best in small doses. Ron Swanson being the huge exception to this.

Not really comparable. The last season of Scrubs was more of a spinoff than anything. The last season of P&R, while a little different, does a good job of ending each character's story.
