Anybody watched on Amazon Prime?

Ive watched the first 2 so far and going to catch the 3rd one tonight.

Seriously fricked up story, but pretty interesting. After the first show, I was positive it was the 3 teenagers. The second one showed just how bat shite crazy the Byers dad was though, now Im not so sure....

Haven't all three been exonerated or at least released. Not really a spoiler, I mean you didn't have to had seen titanic to know how it ends

They took an Alford Plea to get out. Pretty f'd up they had to do that if you ask me.

Are they going to go after the stepfather? Not the bat shite crazy one but the other one. Don't want to give too much away.

Watched the trailer for the 3rd one and saw where Echols had his death sentence removed.

Plus he has a twitter account now so I figured if he was out, they all were

well let's see, there's this foolproof science called DNA testing that definitively cleared them. That's why the state of Arkansas released them without a new trial. Anyone with half a brain knows it was Terry Hobbs. I will say Damian did nothing to help them and his arrogance put them all in a bad position through the entire process.

No. No one involved in that abortion of a prosecution is willing to admit that they were dead wrong the entire time. Reopening the case would require them to say, hey we fricked up royally last time. So, no,they plan on letting the killer go free.

No. as far as the WMPD is concerned, the 3 are still guilty.

Miskelly's alleged false confession did not help much either I would say.

This wasn't the first time Damian had been in a shake down by that redneck podunk sherif department. They had been harassing him for awhile strictly because he didn't fit their idea of "good ole Christian kid". I'd of been a smart arse to them too as would most any teenager in his position.

Exactly this. They all finally agreed to the Alford plea in order to get Damien off of death row. They had to admit guilt to do it, therefore the state is off the hook for potential lawsuits for the wrongful imprisonment or whatever even though the state would have likely lost if there were a new trial with the new eveidence.

All three of those HBO documentaries are good watches.

I just finished it though, and holy hell. Thats some backwards bullshite that they had to do that. Even though I think they were legit innocent, I think its easy to say that Echolls was one fricked up kid at the time of the murders. His "boogeyman" comment was sick and he definitely didnt do them any favors.

Good watch though. Very well done.

Crazy to think Ive driven past those woods numerous times.... gross

ETA: anyone know the backstory on the original Alford case?

Sorry, I've been following this case for a long time and am pretty passionate about it. My comment about anyone with half a brain wasn't directed at you but was a general statement. You should check out 'west of Memphis.' It's the newest doc on this subject and it's the most compelling case yet for their innocence and Hobbs guilt. I actually prefer it to the paradise lost trilogy.

I was really hoping some chicken shite redneck would come along and amuse me. Do you know what fricking DNA testing is?I know how much basic science scares you mouth breathers. There is literally no physical way they could have done this. They are walking free right now. Probably on their way to being millionaires from book deals, etc.. how does it make you feel?

He was just a typical punk teenager and nothing more. He didn't fit in with the "popular" kids in town so he adopted this "bad boy devil worshiper" persona. Even he readily admits that he was just a stupid kid back then.
