Ozark is a great show but BB is still GOAT imo. And I just reached all of BB before watching Ozark.

BB is only the GOAT to those who don't watch much quality TV. Season 5 which is always jerked off on here was filled with wham pow stupidity and explosions.

We loved Ozark and I think that Breaking Bad is overrated, so I'll jump on this train for now.

But, as soon as we near "Better than Sopranos Bend", I'm jumping out of the box car.

I like Ozarks. But not as much as BB. If they don't make season 2 I wouldn't be very upset.

Ya the whole cliffhanger way every show seemed to go the latter part of the series put me off a bit.

Breaking Bad TRIED to portray some sense of realism. Ozark is sort of a soap opera.

lol at the down syndrome kid walking right in and buying a fully auto rifle. That's not how that works.

That's not to say I didn't like Ozark because I did.

BB had so many flaws even from the start. Name one with Ozark.
The Snell plotline and Snell characters are absolutely awful. Same with the FBI agent.

Narcos is about a million times better, fwiw.

Lol at "tried". If you're blasting Ozarks for a lack of realism then it and BB are on equal footing.

Just finished Ozark. Definitely going with Ozark over BB.

Not really close to Breaking Bad...but it's a good show.

But tension and acting is sub-par - way sub-par to Breaking Bad.

Are people already forgetting how good Breaking Bad was?

just finished. very much enjoyed it.

HEAVY SPOILERS BELOW

love the little 'icons' at the start of each episode. enjoy watching it to see how each one materializes in that episode.

i think snell is channeling gerald mcraney as he was in deadwood or house of cards.

the death of ruth's uncles was a bit over the top

wasn't expecting snell's wife's reaction to being called a redneck by del i thought he would be around for at least another season

the baby scene at the end was intense and my wife wanted to beat the shite out of me after making her watch the last episode last night before bed. she couldn't get to sleep for a couple hours after that.

i liked how the 'guy in the basement' caught what was going on with jonah and quietly sabotaged him

wtf was up with the scene where jonah confronted the FBI guy in the woods in an earlier episode? did i miss something? did that scene ever resolve or did i get up to get a snack or something and miss it?

i really enjoyed it but don't have an opinion as yet on how it stacks up to BB

I'm hoping that wasn't a Dexter/Doakes level move by the writers. Esai Morales was pretty awesome in that role, and the character served a great purpose.

Sort of a reverse of the Wild Wild West title graphics.

That was insane.

oh and one inconsistency that bothered me a bit.

Marty seemed completely taken by surprise by Del's violence in the pilot episode but in the flashback we see what Del did in front of Marty to his previous money-launderer.

I would think Marty being a smart man would have contingencies in place for his family from the get-go after that..and also the idiot partner Marty had who saw that IMO would NOT have tried to steal from him.

I mean you're getting paid well enough that you're 'covered for life' but his partner really wanted to be greedy and steal an extra 8 mil after seeing a dude's eyes gouged out?

that seems out of character for that guy to me.

I think he reacted correctly to his friend/coworkers being killed. I also think you missed it where the PI had the fake identities ready to go for some time.

And how does anyone ever think they can get away with stealing from these people? Time and "just a little" and greed that eventually gets OOC. That's in anything. See Enron.

People are stupid.

Criminals are more stupid. That's why they get caught.

The FBI said that Marty's partner was cooperating with them. He might have been trying to get a little "flee the country" money before the shite hit the fan.

True. Do we know when that started? And are we certain the FBI was telling the truth?

The scene with the FBI people talking about the bugs in the new office leads me to believe they're telling the truth. But there is still an argument otherwise.
