I thought it was the usual excellent production. All these shows (GOT, Black Sails) with the large British cast are just out of sight when it comes to the quality of the acting.

I'd looked at the plots in the books last year just to get an idea where the story was going so I figured it was nearing the time for Frank to die. I had actually thought about that very thing at the beginning of this episode last night.

I've read all the books in the series so knew it was coming.

i only watch this with the wife because she watches GoT with me.

i knew Frank's death was coming but i thought they'd do it later in the show. i get that they can't have the two leads apart for a whole season, so they have to move it along.

Why?

I like Jamie but Claire is a completely self-centered piece of shite. The more the show goes on, the less I like her. Frank was a good guy who waited for his true love to return home. She did. Pregnant with another guy's baby and then gave Frank no shot at rekindling their former relationship because she's obsessed with Jamie.

Even Jamie allowed himself to enjoy a night of sex romping with another woman.

This...I get that she wasn't in love with the guy anymore, but yeesh, when your main character is a terrible person I'm not sure how we're supposed to give a crap about her.

I think the actor who played Frank/Black Jack Randall did an amazing job.

I was most excited to finally see Lord John Grey.

I don't thing Claire is self centered, her heart belongs to Jamie. It couldn't be helped, I felt bad for all three.

I thought Murtagh was dead? Didn't the history books say only Jamie made it out alive?

Also, the guy dropped Jamie off and said to go to the jail, and then left. Why wouldn't Jamie just go the other way? Is he just supposed to walk into that jail? Lol

You talking about the end of the episode? That wasn’t a jail. He was gonna be serving a wealthy family. It was the best John Grey could do for him. If he just ran away then there would be a search for him. And then his sister and her family in danger again. Remember that is why he turned himself in in the first place....to keep them safe.

In the books it is implied he dies at Culloden. Looks like they decided to keep him alive in the show. The article above talks about it. The show writers had Diana’s blessing to keep Murtagh fyi.

I’ll be curious to see where he pops up in the future

Are we to assume prince Charles died in the battle? I'm bummed because he was my favorite character and they didn't show him dying.
