Big fan of the show, especially the first 2 seasons. But I feel like the show is just dragging along. The 2 things that are missing pieces of the whole story is 1) What was the cause of the apocalypse 2) Is there a cure?

I get the aspects of the story such as survival, in group fighting/co-operation, human to human interactions in desperate times, watching people you care die. It gets redundant after a while. But I have to admit there is good character development with Carol, Rick, Darrel.

But I guess if the writers let us know about these things, the show would end.

All I want to know is how constantly moaning and foot dragging zombies continue to sneak up on people, especially in the woods

this!

To OP, I agree that the show is dragging now. Way more boring episodes than exciting ones. I get that they have to set stuff up, but shite it seems like the seasons are all set up for a small climax now. I'm still watching waiting for answers to your two questions and there not being much else on Sunday nights.

I've noticed most zombie movies never address this.

2) Is there a cure?

I think the CDC guy in season 1 said no. Considering the state of things, I'd say its unlikely any remaining scientists will be able to develop one.

Aren't there stats somewhere that say the ZA in TWD should be over by now at the rate they kill zombies?

Once we find this out, the show is over.

i havent heard/seen of any stats like that but i would say it would depend on how large of a scale the outbreak hit before they settled in. And from the looks of the show shite got real bad. So i dont think they have killed off enough Walkers to end it yet

More than likely, you will never get the answer to either of those questions, and if you do, it'll be in a cliffhanging series finale.

A better question, I think, is how people who have survived this long in the ZA continue to be gullible enough to trust strangers.

if they ever explain the cause of the apocalypse, i kinda hope it's a widespread air-born virus or something like that. if it began with a "patient zero" and escalated from there, i'd have a hard time accepting that it couldn't have been contained early on....it'd be one thing if the zombies were sprinting ala the 'dawn of the dead' remake or '28 days later', but not with slow-moving walkers...

They have started to realign with the comics now and the TV story is right there with issues in the 60-70 range. They just released issue 134 a few weeks ago and Kirkmann has no plans to stop writing. If you've read the comics you'd know that there is a million paths the group could choose over the next few seasons and enough material to easily go another 5 years.

That's just milking the system. By then, Fournette will be a 4th year veteran in the NFL.

But there are no new infections even with the characters coating themselves with walker blood.
