I honestly have no idea how you are tying those two together when him being seduced by white culture has nothing to do with the murders and the documentary didn't come remotely close to saying that. I mean not as all

I said this in the MSB thread, this documentary has blown American Crime Story out of the water. Might be the most compelling thing ESPN has ever done.

It has and that show was absolutely amazing on its own.

Oh shite......Part 5.....they are interviewing his manager about a time he went over to OJs house after and OJ was high. OJ basically told him he killed her.

I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with why he murdered them either. However he made such a point about being colorless and not identifying as white or black, and then when it comes time for trial his defense was largely based on him being a black man. I feel like that is an angle they are going to try and show.

I don't think it's really fair to compare the two as they are very very different. This is a legit documentary. ACS was an entertainment show- though it was extremely accurate. And ACS focused more on the trial and legal aspects of the whole thing while this documentary is more about what led up to the killing and OJ personal life.

It seems like most people are missing the main objective of the documentary,

I have to assume most of the negative comments in this thread are from people who didn't watch a single minute of this amazing doc.

Because their comments are so dumb and absurd and not even relevant.

Well, you missed out on good film-making and storytelling..."Absent Movie/TV board poster" (who doesn't bother to watch the stuff that gets critical acclaim but wants to comment on it) And really shouldn't post on this board anymore if you are going to announce to everyone you refuse good film-making based on topic.

The doc as a whole is about "Why OJ got away with murder".

And Nicole herself made excuses for him for a long time. That doesn't make her culpable for her own death, but it's very typical behavior of an abuse victim. They can be their own worst enemy as they keep going back to their abuser.

That was also in a different time. Things have changed a lot since then.

So much has changed because of that trial, we just don't realize it. It revolutionized the way a crime scene is handled

I'm about to start the 30 for 30, but if anybody is interested in more about the murder and case....

Real Crime Profile podcast

OJ was filming a movie and one of the stunt advisors was former special ops. OJ asked him how to kill somebody and get away with it. Among other things, he was told to wear a thick wet suit to prevent bruising and contact with DNA/bodily fluids.

Which is why they only ever found the socks and gloves

Also, Ron fought back for "10-15" minutes. That's a shitty way to go, knowing you're being killed for 15 minutes.

and there was likely 2 people in that alley, besides Ron and Nicole, according to the most well regarded criminologist.

Damn, I never heard that. Also heard Goldman was a blackbelt in some type of martial arts. That would explain why OJ only had the finger scratch because according to the autopsy report Goldman put up a pretty good fight.

This doc is so fricking good fwiw. It sounds like the dipshites in this thread that are dogging it haven't watched it all the way through. It really captures the historical and pop culture context of that jacked up trial and outcome.

No I don't. In this particular case, I don't need "perspective" from someone offering that as an excuse for someone to brutally hack 2 people to death.

So you didn't watch more than 2 minutes of this documentary. Because that statement is so far from what it showed it isn't even funny

Hence the mysterious travel bag Robert Kardashian was seen carrying and that has never turned up. He likely disposed of the clothing OJ was wearing. Not only has he foisted his worthless offspring on America, he was an accomplice after the fact (hell, maybe before the fact, who knows) to a murder.

He is over-reacting but it is a stupid thing to say. The kind of people that OJ was hanging with were not typical white people - making the statement pretty stupid. You should raise an eyebrow when someone makes a statement like that, probably in the same way you'd raise an eyebrow if they changed the word white to jewish just because his agent or accountant were jewish.

The trial as it was perceived by the jury and general public was all about race but the way OJ lived his life and bought his way out of a murder conviction had almost nothing to do with race, it was about money. He got rich and did rich people things, not stuff 99.99% of white people ever get to do.

Yea, check out that podcast. It's by this former FBI profiler that tracked down the unabomber. He was real close to the whole thing. He's good friends with this criminologist that investigated the scene and evidence. The evidence suggest OJ was not alone.

This Fuhrman part is basically showing why reasonable doubt was possible back then-- shitty racist cop goes on the stand and takes the 5th about planting evidence in the past; then goes on to admit to hating black people--- you forget with time how much of a shithead this guy was, he's basically the racist southern sheriff in a civil rights movie but he's an LAPD Detective.

The son theory has always had some plausibility-- not a lot but some-- especially some of the sloppiness.
