can't believe that Bob Newhart is still alive for real.

It's neat that they're bringing The Librarian to TV, but so far they've stolen almost everything from Warehouse 13.

never watched warehouse 13 but Librarian started about 10 years ago.

I do like that they are explaining some simple things about the library itself.

The movies are decent. May check out the show later if reviews are good.

Do I have to have seen the movies to enjoy the show?

not really, you will know the main couple characters but they seem to be simplifying everything to reintroduce the concept. They are even explaining things not explained in the movies.

Yes, I know. I've seen them all.

Between the last Librarian movie and this new series, is Warehouse 13. And they definitely got A LOT of inspiration from Warehouse 13 for this new series. I'm still going to watch though!

I think I will like this show fine, it will be as good as 95% of the crap out there now. John Larequette is a solid addition and they have added two pieces of eye candy in Romijn and redhead from Kickass 2.

the curious part to me is what this means for Falling Skies or if they will work the seasons opposite of Falling Skies to free up Wyle.

Wyle isn't going to be a cast regular on this show, so his commitment for Falling Skies shouldn't be an issue for his role on this show. I think he is just going to pop in every once in awhile. I kind of think that sucks somewhat, since his character is what made the movies so fun. I like the concept of the show, but I really wish they could've secured Wyle as a series regular.

well that puts a damper on the show then. I can see how that ties together with what he said about searching for the library and that he would be there for big events but not really for the more mundane stuff. None of the other characters are really all encompassing like Flynn is.

Oops. Skimped on my "research" before starting a separate thread. Glad this one is here. Here's my thought's on the show so far:

I loved the concept. Heck, I loved the old movies.

And they had a ton of great actors - Bob Newhart, Jane Curtin, John Larroquette, etc. Now which will only end up being guest stars for the first episodes or only recurring characters we'll have to wait and see.

Execution leaves a little to be desired, from the writing down to some of the acting (Rebecca Romijn was pretty wooden in parts and Larroquette and even Newhart seemed like they were phoning it in a bit).

But overall I enjoyed the light hearted feel to the show and the subject matter will likely keep me tuning back in for now.

Will watch when I'm done with finals. I've read a review from the av club and they said its comparable to a leverage type show

Episode 2 on now. Laroquette's character is kind of growing on me. (I guess last week they had to play up Newhart at his expense).
