Is this series worth a look? I'm a huge fan of cop drama but was pretty young when this was out so I have never seen it. Also never saw the shield. What is your opinion?

I liked it. Thought it got better when Caruso left. Dennis Franz is a great actor and made the show.

Homicide: Life on the Street is a great show too. It was overshadowed by NYPD Blue.

I loved NYPD Blue.

I wonder if it aged well.

My dad's retired NYPD and he says it's the closest to accurately depicting the real thing.

Is it on netflix or amazon? I wouldn't mind watching this show again.

Likewise, my dad was NOPD and thought this was the most realistic cop show. I enjoyed watching it every week with my dad - great show.

One of my favorite shows of all time. When I got my first DVR in the early 2000s this show ran 2 episodes a day in the original order on one of the super stations. I think I watched the last season or 2 live and the rest of it in order on the DVR.

Awesome cast and great stories. Very cool to watch Sipowicz's character change through the series.
