Only thing I can't figure is the motivation? Maybe to make Jess leave so that her family can be whole?
Good call

Well, that was a disappointing finale since the ending was spoiled in this thread and the finale was relatively boring. I watched Cornell Confidential. Older daughter agrees to testify against Abby. That's it.
So, does this storyline continue or will the next season have a new one with all new characters?
Juliette Lewis is great in her role. Phillipe was okay. I might watch again if Cornell returns. Not sure otherwise.

Yeah, I was disappointed in the finale too. I thought the killer was Natalie or Christy. Should have known by the way Abby was acting that she did it
Doesn't look like Phillipe will be back

I was under the impression that there is one more episode. Am I wrong?

I was also confused, but when I googled, everything I found said it was the finale and it doesn't come on next week. I checked that on my guide. I couldn't tell whether the story ended or not. I watched Cornell Confidential for the rest of the story, but it leaves you hanging, as well.
I'd read that they filmed multiple endings on "who done it" and that no one knew which ending would be used, so that it could have been several different people who could have murdered Tom. However, they stuck with the Australian version, apparently, as indicated by the poster who spoiled it in this thread last week when he confirmed someone else's theory.
Phillipe definitely isn't coming back, but I'd read this was going to be a new storyline every season with different stars, so I was expecting this season to completely end. If this is the end, it was a lousy one. I really feel like I invested a lot of time in a slow moving show which was only saved by Juliette Lewis's character and her acting.
ETA: Just found this review which is close to how I feel about it all.

Also, the internet clip indicated that Ben was no longer with us which was another end not tied up. They referred to him in the past tense as if he was dead. I guess we assume that he was killed in jail because he was a convicted child killer?

My SO claimed there was 1 more episode, but after reading this it sounds not true.
I tell you what, I'm a dad with an 11 year old son and 4 year old stepson, and if they friggin' murdered someone I don't take the fall for it. Especially if I was the #1 suspect!
They can't charge a 12 year with a lifetime sentence, so you have to take the hit and hope your kid gets better with age and treatment.
If, in the premise of the show, you go to jail for your kid the little psycho grows up and does it again.
No way.
My wife is mad at me for posting this FYI

My problem was that saving 1 ruined the other 3. Spare 1 for sacrificing 3...

I applauded the 17 year old for being the most grown up about what needed to happen. If you are the Dad and you find the shoes, you just got get rid of them on your own.
Keep it to yourself and hope for the best. If they charge the 12 year old, you just play shocked and dumb. That's how you protect your kid.

he didn't feel the need to include his family the whole other time trying to prove his innocence... why he had to go include family when he found abby's shoes? Man, the first perfect day they had and you had to go find the bloody shoes, and how the hell was the cover completely off, that's dumb. .
