Good find. One of the last sitcoms to lay claim to "misfit television"

I agree - a "semi" spinoff from Cheers - Harry made a splash with his guest roles as "Harry the Hat" and got his own show as a Night Court judge.

And the cast of misfits, essentially, stole the show from him - despite losing 2 female bailiffs to father time during its run, the show also helped restart the career of Louisiana's own, John Larroquette, who had been in Black Sheep Squadron in the 70s, and had a memorable role in 1981's Stripes - his career didn't really take off until he landed the role of Dan Fielding on Night Court.

Singer Ellen Foley got a rare acting turn in the second season (Markie Post was the 4th public defender, if you count Gail Strickland's Sheila Gardner in the pilot).

For you Star Trek fans out there - Larroquette played a Klingon named Maltz Star Trek III:

And Brent Spiner had a recurring guest role as Bob Wheeler, of West Virginia (or Yugoslavia) - BEFORE he landed the role of Commander Data in The Next Generation.

Great show featuring one of the all-time best themes. Used to run them on TV Land late-night. Filled up the DVR with those episodes.

Great show.

My fav. episode is the one where some guy's niece teases Dan Fielding all episode and at the end he can't take it anymore.

I crack up every time I see it. I remember when this would come on after the local news.

Night Court was one of the most underrated comedy shows ever. It was consistently funny with a solid cast.

That Elizabeth Morgan gal - is she originally from Louisiana? I know they lived in New Orleans for several years and left about a year after Katrina.

Man, what a great show. I wish they'd put it on Netflix so I could roll through them.

Great show. My brother graduated medical school with John Larroquette's sister. I remember seeing him at the graduation when I was a kid and was so excited.
