3. Political intrigue

If I wanted political intrigue, I'd watch the prequels.

Lame, i shouldn't have to read a book to understand what happened between 6 and 7. At least 3 and 4 made sense!

Bloodlines has some serious hype.

I tried Aftermath and couldn't get into it. Lost Stars is supposed to be great. Just don't have a lot of reading time but may read Bloodlines.

You couldn't get the gist of what happened between 6 and 7?

What events would push Leia to break away from the Republic she has dedicated herself to serving?
She grew up a rebel. She couldn't get that out of her blood.

Aftermath was awful.

Lost Stars was really good.

I loved the Dark Disciple. You get a whole new appreciation for Ventress.

If you want some good Star Wars reading that is canon read Lords of the Sith and Tarkin.

Those are both amazing. Plenty of Vader actually kicking arse. Tarkin being strategic and brutal. The Emporer doing his thing.

Considering this ones being done by Claudia Gray I'm buying the hype. Lost Stars also done by her is arguably the best canon book.

Nope, I distinctly remembered at the end of episode six they were celebrating the fall of the empire from Tattonie all the way to Courosants. Every planet on the SW universe that was shown was celebrating and suddenly we found out that they lost somehow?

That they are no longer even called the Rebels but the Resistance. Which made what they did at the end of episode six asine. Instead of consolidating their power and starting up a war industry, they got their arse rolled over by the Empire again.

And according to what I gathered between 6 and 7 the First Order crushed the Rebellion and now there's only the Resistance.

That was my thinking upon first viewing the movie as nothing was explained or filled in.
