I really did try to get into this but the 2 female leads just grated on my nerves so incredibly bad I only got through about 3 episodes.

We're about to be in the season for great TV.

BCS, GoT, Silicon Valley...TWD. I think Archer is about to start up as well

It really is about to get overwhelming. As of this upcoming Sunday (2/14), the following shows will be airing every Sunday and Monday for several weeks:

Better Call Saul
TWD
Billions
X-Files
Vinyl
Togetherness - 2/21
Girls (I know) - 2/21

Followed soon after by...

House of Cards - 3/4
GoT - 4/17
Silicon Valley - 4/24
Peaky Blinders S3 - April (on BBC One)

In some ways, breaking bad and Saul and Sons of anarchy and Sopranos are dark comedies

You really need to watch Breaking Bad then. Like take off of work to watch Breaking Bad.

True. It's not a show that falls easily into one category or the other. There are scenes that will make you laugh, and scenes that will break your heart. But I do think that those posters in this thread who are saying it is more a drama with comedic overtones are correct.

You know a show is good when it's funny like that. I don't really consider BCS like that as much as BB sopranos all that. Just because BCS isn't as dark.

The comedy was such a good break up in breaking bad

More drama than comedy. But more comedy than some of the others mentioned.

I too followed Better Call Saul before watching Breaking Bad.

I don't think it's a necessity(unless they start tying more in), but it's the small things you miss. Needs to watch BB for the sake of it being a great show.

Now rewatching BCS after Breaking Bad, I pick up on them much easier. Like understanding the opening scene in the series or him looking at some god awful colored shirts in episode 4.

The end of episode 9 is so gut wrenching to me. I knew it the whole time but when Chick finally says it, it just tore my heart out. The main reason why I say this show is much more drama.

Just binged all of season 1 starting at about 10 pm last night.

Was awesome. Loved all the tie ins to breaking bad, and how The story was pretty split between Saul and Mike.
