Very good, and yes it's a comedy although there are some dramatic elements. It's a spin-off from Breaking Bad. A prequel actually.

I like it more than breaking bad because it seems more real, if that makes any sense.

Just rewatched S1 to prepare. It was even better second time.

Music, characters, just well done.

I actually would call it a drama with comedic elements. Either way, you are right that it is very good.

Yep, I'm about a halfway through my rewatch of S1 and it's even better the second time around. Really looking forward to S2.

I wouldnt call this show a comedy by any means. There are funny parts because of Saul and his character but this show is a drama.

LE, yes it is very good.

Better call Saul is a drama. That isn't up for debate.

Anyone on the fence about starting it, just do it. The show is so damn good

I can see that POV. Might be more accurate to view it that way.

It's definitely a different tone and pace. Both work because that tone is borne out of the characters. Walt was a man given a death sentence and believes he has no time left, so the show built around him is extremely plot propulsive and intense. More story and character transformation happens in the pilot of Breaking Bad than happens in an entire season of most shows.

In Better Call Saul the journey is more relaxed but just as compelling because of how well-crafted it is and also because of how much pathos they've managed to mine out of Jimmy McGill. Because we know he ends up becoming a sleazebag, there's a profoundly tragic element to watching Jimmy strive to do the right thing. Though thanks to the black-and-white flash-forwards, there's a glimmer of hope we could see Jimmy redeemed in the post-Breaking Bad world. We just don't know what's in store in that timeline.

do you consider breaking bad a comedy?

BCS's tone is almost identical to BB, imo. It is absolutely a drama, that has a couple jokes here and there. I mean it's bob odenkirk, he's a funny guy, he's gonna say a few funny things.

But in no way would it ever be classified as a comedy.
