The animated comedy based on the life of stand-up comic Bill Burr premiered in December.
Netflix animated comedy F Is for Family will live to swear another day.
The raunchy comedy inspired by the life of stand-up comic Bill Burr has been renewed for a second season.
Burr made the announcement Friday via Twitter with an expletive-laden clip that concluded with the message that the half-hour comedy is "officially returning" for season two. Season two will consist of 10 episodes — up four from its first-year order.
Season one of the six-episode comedy debuted in December and counts Burr, Laura Dern and Justin Long among its voice cast. The comedy hails from Gaumont International Television and marks the latest collaboration for the company with the streaming giant (Hemlock Grove, Narcos).
F Is for Family comes as Netflix has been making a sizable investment in comedy and animation. On the animated side, the streamer has BoJack Horseman which will also return for a second season. Netflix's live-action comedy roster includes The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which launched its second season Friday; Degrassi: Next Class, The Ranch, Drew Barrymore-Timothy Olyphant entry Santa Clarita Diet, Norman Lear's One Day at a Time reboot; Easy, from mumblecore master Joe Swanberg and more as the company invests $5 billion in originals this year.
F Is for Family is produced by Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Television. Burr and Michael Price (The Simpsons) co-created the 1970s-set series.

Thank god they extended the episode order to 10. I was just getting into the damn show when boom it was over and I had no warning since I had no clue it was only 6 episodes.

Honestly, this show is what Family Guy should have been. It's hilarious and fantastic. Glad we're getting more episodes next season.

I can't imagine what family guy might have been had it debuted on Netflix

What? The first few seasons of family guy are hilarious. Why can't family guy be family guy, and f is for family be f is for family?
