Looks promising.
Only 6 episodes and has been renewed already for season 2.

Khal Drogo vs. Big Fur

quote:

The series follows Declan Harp (Jason Momoa), a part-Irish, part-native American outlaw who is campaigning to breach the Hudson's Bay Company's monopoly on the fur trade in Canada.

That looks awesome. It was released in Canada already so you should be able to find it on Kodi and other 3rd party services now.

He was good on Stargate: Atlantis and GoT, but not so good as Conan the Barbarian.

Budget version of The Revenant focused on Tom Hardy's character instead.

GD I swear I looked twice and searched and somehow still missed this thread.

If you can get through the early episodes with a constant intro of all the characters it does start to come together in ep 5 and 6.
They left a lot of loose ends for a season 2 for sure.

I think season 2 could be really good since you can develop the story a little more.

This isn't bad, though I think it's more like a cable version of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. The native american culture is ludicrously anachronistically PC and inaccurate (I'm a liberal, and even I find it silly). The travel times are silly (everyone has a teleporter, evidently), and the random "chance" encounters of people in the wilderness and such is dumb.

That being said, I'll probably finish it anyway because I like the milieu.

With the stipulations that I haven't seen the show and may not understand what you're talking about: People didn't just randomly wander around. There were well known trails and water routes for getting from one place to another. If someone else was in the same area, you were probably going to run into them at some point.

It's a contrived issue in the show that comes across as cheap. The wilderness is huge and if you are traveling by foot you aren't going to just run into the guy who is actively avoiding capture in the wilderness after less than a day of leaving town.

Definitely low budget, but I thought it was pretty good. Could have used some better actors though.

"yes, great woman chieftess of the remote Lake People tribe whose kingdom is vast and far reaching and distant and remote and isolated, meaning that we have a huge advantage if we can establish trade with you. We shall travel our way far back into town and rescue your grandson and return him to you."

Two hours later, they're in town staging a rescue.

Also, the travel on the ship from England to the New World in the first episode seemed like it took a couple of days. I didn't even realize that the one dude and his girlfriend and her brother were supposed to be in England when they attempted to steal from the ship until later in the show when he mentioned his girlfriend being in prison back in LONDON?!? WTF.
