I would like to see their viewership numbers. There original stuff like Full House (rumored to be the most watched) and Stranger Things must be huge.

I still don't understand how streaming commercial free original content is a feasible business model long term.

Best series on Netflix right now is Black Mirror.

It's still on Hulu though. They are much better if you're interested in watching old TV shows IMO.

What would a profitable, subscription based commercial free network with a lot of expensive to produce original content look like?

HBO is the oldest and longest continuously operating pay television service (basic or premium) in the United States, having been in operation since November 8, 1972.

I think they've spent the last several years trying to be the next HBO for a reason. They are throwing a lot of content at the walls to see what sticks right now, but if they ever needed to slow that spending down they should have the viewer data available to still have a higher hit rate than the traditional TV Network model.

Just checked my Netflix stock for the first time in 3 months.

It's at an all time high right now. So maybe I'll stick around.

Ya, I was rewatching House and was into the 4th season when it got pulled.

I'm a bit pissy about it. Wanted to finish it. And was going to start watching Arrested Development after House.

Great...

People sign up for netflix to watch series they missed out on a long time ago for just 10-12 bucks a month and the fact they're getting away from that is sad to watch.

They rotate series in and out. Just like they did "back in the day".

Good thing their shows are some of the best around

Some of them are really good. A lot of them are awful.

They took Bob's Burgers off too. Now they only have the first two seasons. They had all 6 and hulu has 7 so idk what was going on

I also wanted to rewatch Fringe and it's neither on Hulu nor Netflix. Lame.

If I am Fox or one of the other networks that can swing it I'm charging an arm and a leg for popular old series. If Netflix or Amazon pays great, if not we put it up on our website.

Good for Fox, shitty for the consumer. The entire reason I got Netflix and Hulu premium was the avoid commercials. I can't do that w/the Fox apps nor will I be willing to pay for more than the 3 streaming services I already have (and the only reason I even have Amazon is b/c of my Prime membership).
