Anyone been watching? Finale is tonight. I've enjoyed this season and the participants. Unlike last year, I had watched the episodes from the earlier year so I knew the participants.
Spoilers below.
Can't believe they just ate all that fruit without washing it at the very least. I think I would have dropped it in boiling water. Have also been disappointed they haven't killed a deer or something big.

last show tonight? dang that went fast. Yeah, they should have washed it..they were essentially eating ape crap and bat spit. Been a good show, wish the long beard guy that went out on his own wouldnt have gotten sick.

I liked Ryan as well. Though i guess I was disappointed in him also. I don't know. Don't feel like Jake or the redneck guy from Texas would have ever walked away for the group (particularly the women that needed the group to stay together).

This show was good when it first came out. The more you hear about how much they stage stuff and intervene with things, on top of the created drama like it's a frickin soap opera, it's getting close to unwatchable now. I just look at it like it's a reality show that has a script, and i don't like that type of show.
This show is not in the same conversation as Alone, and i was a big fan of it when it first came out.
It's just dumb that 40 days worth of surviving is cut down to about 5 hours of television.
The last one was 10 days worth crunched into 42 minutes, with probably 25% of that being worthless recap crap.

I assume he caught other fish as well, as one of the girls alluded to him "providing fish" in a way that meant more than the 3 he caught then. Those muddy holes in Africa tend to hold a lot of noise type nasty catfish, I think they just didn't show the others.
Correct, the last show condensing down to 52 minutes that long stretch of time was idiotic. But, I guess most of it is just boring and repetitive. "i'm hungry, I'm hot, its dangerous here, etc." Wish they could make it better next time, it has potential.

This season was just bad. Last season had Jeff/EJ who were awesome and saved it.

The biggest joke was the last day protein from the catfish. Why the hell weren't they using the hooks all season?

Odd to me that 4 people went down with the infected fruit thing; one was kept in the challenge much longer in the medical tent while three were taken out of the challenge almost immediately.

I thought this was okay. Ryan was the first one and they probably were concerned about organ failure. Once they realized what it was, they were okay trying to treat at bush camp. I think if they had known what they know now, they would have given him the same treatment they gave Jake and Phaedra. And it would would have made for good tv if he'd been able to get out of bed with him being sick and needing the group.
Kim was in agony and screaming so loud I thought an alien was about to pop out of her stomach.
They gave Phaedra and Jake the same chance to get better. He was able to get out of bed at least for a bit. She wasn't. I thought it was fair overall.
