My thoughts on Scrubs, seasons 1-8 (spoilers)

An excellent show, truly.
The relationship between Turk and JD is awesome most times, and grating other times.
Carla was captain buzzkill.
Elliot was the least annoying female in TV history. . .although she tested me at times. She could deliver some funny tet-a-tets.
Cox. Best character on the show, bar none.
JD he is hit and miss on his comic delivery. He handles drama like a master, though.
Turk's scenes with JD are why you watch. . .despite the parody they become at times.
Kelso was a mess. They did a poor job of transitioning him from the uncaring corporate shill, to the guy who took the hate for the good of all.
I love that John Ritter's death was felt on this show as well.
I love the side characters: The Todd, Janitor, Ted, Jordan, etc. The episode where you see how they make it all work was one of the best, IMO.
The episode when Ben dies made me and my wife cry. It really grabbed me by the heart. The whole time you are thinking Cox is just being an a-hole, and then you find out he is really having a full-blown mental and emotional breakdown. . .powerful stuff.
I love the show. Not quite on par with The Office or Parks & Rec. It isn't in my top ten, but it is solid. I definitely see why it gets the love it does.
For the record, I still like the on screen chemistry of Gus and Shawn a bit better than JD and Turk.

I agree with this. His delivery and banter cracks me up every episode. This show is brilliant in a lot of instances.

Cox- Best character on the show
JD- Very good in the dramatic scenes
Carla- annoying
Janitor- GOAT character
One of my favorite shows of all time. Rewatched it a few times.

Scrubs uses both those shows as its cum rag.
ETA: in all seriousness, Scrubs is one of the best sitcoms of all time and is probably my favorite sitcom of all time. It does so many things well, including the poignant moments. The way it allows the actors to stretch the characters; the way it integrates pop culture, slapstick, and intelligent humor; the way it utilizes music. I don't know of a show that better uses its soundtrack. Certainly not a sitcom that does.

Carla wasn't funny but often times I found they used her as the grounded character. She didn't bother me.

I had that finale saved on DVR for years and years. Most I've ever felt for a show or ever will I think.
I love Psych but it doesn't have the same emotional pull.

I'm watching psych right now. Only on the end of season 1 but it's starting to get a little stale with the constant formulaic plot. Similar to House, only not as good. I hope it changes up a bit. But so far I like JD And Turk but I'm biased.
The two part episode where cox goes down the shitter and JD is the one who has to bring him out (I think my hero) is probably the best two episodes of a sitcom I've ever seen

Much like Captain Vick and Juliet O'Hara, the show gets better with age.

The best show ever IMHO. I have seen every episode many times and it's still on my HULU list as I watch it any time there isn't anything to watch. Ive dressed as Dr. Todd for Halloween (cut off scrubs and tat, no banana hammock). I still laugh at the stupid stuff.
I cant watch shows like The Middle and take them seriously because he will always be The Janitor.

Agreed, but that kinda makes her come off as the nagging girlfriend, kinda like Lily in HIMYM

Me too. I have a buddy that I dont see very often. He still always tries to hit me with the "upstairs/downstairs" bit

One of my favorite shows ever. Had great funny moments and great drama.
Janitor and Dr. Cox were such great characters.

Lily was far worse than Carla

Oh I agree, mostly pointing out they both play the "mom" role for the gang. Outside of Lily's ridiculous art fantasy she was probably the most grounded character on the show
The same goes for Carla with her whole split up with Turk thing

Getting a dog in the next few months...one of the names on the list of potential names: Rowdy.
Love that show...

Maybe in the later seasons, but that wasn't her character in the early seasons. I liked her overall.
IIRC the split between her and JD and the young doctor / veteran nurse relationship was one of the best serious moments in the early part of the series.
(you know the scene where its raining and they're on a bus and all that)

She was a bitch to JD there IMO.
