I see different movies on RT that get bad reviews often, but often those movies are good. Am I the only one thinking some of the reviews are bugged?

what kind of movies?

RT is ridiculously critical of comedies

and RT loves really boring dramas.

I'd say movies that turn out reasonably good. I enjoyed Dracula recently and it came out with a score of 23&, but the movie was pretty damn good.

Brooklyn's Finest is always the first one I think of. That movie is hugely underrated.

That's because most of them suck arse and are not funny.

Nah, not IMO. The one's that are critically acclaimed are usually not boring.

But you're a movie snob just like the critics, so we wouldn't expect your opinion to differ from theirs.

I haven't checked RT out in forever. So I decided to go to their homepage right now..

Immediately, I notice that..

Selma is currently a 98%

Is Selma truly that good?

I do notice their TV ratings look pretty legit though.

Okay just looking over some quick things as well..

I will say that for the most part the ratings look about right, but

Into the Woods is a 72%? That movie was straight trash.. I am no Top Gun fan, but for Top Gun to be a 55% and Into the Woods nearly 20% higher.. is kinda silly.

The Passion of the Christ at 49% seems low, regardless of your beliefs.

Home Alone at 54% is ridiculous. That's a great movie.
Home Alone 2 was actually a "decent" sequel, certainly not 24% bad..

Ace Ventura I think should at least crack 50%, but it's under.

Heavyweights lol 20% haha, Out Cold (not really the best) but less than 10% LOL. Single digits aha.

I am not saying I agree or disagree with this list I am about to post. This was posted years back so scores may be changed but

quote:

From IMDb Top 250, these movies are scoring below 80 at RottenTomatoes:

# - Title - RT score
19. Forrest Gump - 71
31. Leon: The Professional - 79
63. Gladiator - 78
65. Intouchables - 76
68. The Prestige - 76
72. Requiem for a Dream - 78
81. Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi - 79
85. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - 74
113. Snatch - 72
136. Sin City - 78
142. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - 76
147. The Thing 80
V for Vendetta - 73
199. A Beautiful Mind - 78
215. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - 79
233. Shutter Island - 69
240. Big Fish - 77

I'm going to with final answer, The Prestige, should be higher. As well Forrest Gump should be much, much higher.. I'm not a big fan of the Pirates movies.

I remember about year ago or less, John Carpenter's "The Thing" was at 79%. I see its now listed at 80. Yet, "Locke" a movie that consist of a man driving in his car talking about his affair and his job and nothing else, gets 91? That's bullshite. The Thing is the greatest scyfy horror ever made and will live forever. Locke is one most forgettable movies I can think of, I hated that movie.
