Voice acting isn't film acting. His film acting career - outside of Star Wars - was hampered by a number of things - most notably, facial injuries he received 1977.

Come on Ace!?! Two topics in two days I've disagreed with you on. Your E-Bro status is intact, but wavering slightly.

Film acting is not the end all be all, especially when you can say Hamill is arguably the GOAT voice actor. I'm sure Mark is quite happy with his resume outside of Star Wars.

I came here to say Love Guru killed Mike Myers career but see that was said so how about Chris O'Donnel in Batman and Robin.

His career seemed pretty promising and he did decent in Batman Forever, but man. George Clooney and Arnold barely recovered from that movie, he didn't have a chance.

Silverstone can probably say the same thing.

I hate that I have rustled the fanboys' jimmies on this issue. Facts are facts. I like Mark Hamill - he was a real treat in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, for example.

If it makes y'all feel better - same trilogy did the same thing to Carrie Fisher (okay, that, a terribly dysfunctional home life growing up as a celebrity baby, a wicket alcohol and cocaine problem - and other issues). So, I'll call it "Carrie Fisher" syndrome - as she is essentially known for being Princess Leia.

On the other hand, she is a wonderful humor writer.

(I was not trying to put the stink on Mark Hamill - merely trying to describe the phenomenon.)

Arnold barely recovered from that movie,

Arnold is the king of "Go Big or Go Home".

You go from:
Conan (Up)
Conan the Destroyer (Way Down. Terrible Movie)
Terminator (Way up)
Red Sonja (I like it, but not great, especially following T1. Down)
Commando (Its an 80's action movie, but its really not great. Down)
Raw Deal (Down. Is Arnold done?)
Predator (Way the hell up. Possibly top 5 scifi ever)
Running Man (Cheesy and disappointing follow up after Predator. Down)
Red Heat (Guilty Pleasure, but nothing special. Down)
Twins (Way up. Unexpected Comedy)
Total Recall (Huge Blockbuster. Way Up)
Kindergarten Cop (Arnold the comedic actor? Way up)
T2 (Blow the roof off up)
Last Action Hero (I love it, but horribly misunderstood at the time. Trending Down.)

Last Action Hero kinda started a really bad string for Arnold. FWIW, Ive really liked Esacpe Plan and Sabotage. I heard he was pretty good in Maggie, too. Havent seen Terminator yet.

I'd argue this had a bigger affect than Star Wars.

I enjoyed her HBO special.

Cavizel is in that CBS show with Ben Linus from Lost, Blacklist or whatever. It gets decent ratings.

2 Star Wars movies

"Jumper"

Disappeared.

He was pretty solid in Shattered Glass. It's definitely worth seeing if you haven't.

Person of Interest

Ryan Reynolds hasn't made a good movie since Van Wilder.

Green Lantern is the worst movie I have ever seen. R.I.P.D. is not far behind.

I think he just takes bad rolls or just gets horrible direction.

Just Friends and the Proposal were great. This was post Van Wilder.

And unless were being epiclly trolled, Deadpool is probably going to end up being the biggest R rated movie of all time.

So I'd say RR isn't done just yet.

None of you guys think that the actors chose to take a different route after the productions started to die down due to...say...family?

With this I submit Honey I Shrunk the Kids ruining Rick Moranis's career.

Some of you are confusing the difference between a bad movie and a financial failure. Some of the movies mentioned in this thread may very well have been good movies, but if it's not a financial success, it can easily ruin a career.

On another note, I think Season of the Witch was the final nail in the coffin that killed Nic Cage. Even a great movie like Joe couldn't save him.

This movie was several orders of magnitude better than Wild Hogs

perhaps so but Wild Hogs made $253 million on a $60m budget while Roscoe Jenkins made $43m on a $35m budget.

Rick Moranis's career

I think his wife's death was the reason he got out of the business. He felt he needed to raise his kids and decided he didn't want to get back into the movies.
