The Deathly Hallows Part 2 immediately comes to mind. The first two acts are perfect. Couldn't have been done much better at all. Then once daybreak hits, the film shits the bed entirely. Should have been closer to "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" than a battle that goes on for 15 god damn minutes.

The ultimate example I can think of is Sunshine.

I still love that movie though.

I Am Legend is another good one.

Thought Sunshine as well when I read the subject. Not that the final act was terrible, just not nearly as good as the rest.

I HATED the final scene in The Abyss theatrical version. Looked awful and ruined the rest of the movie. Liked the Director's Cut much better.

Sunshine.

On it's way to becoming my #1 science fiction movie of all-time and then becomes a freaking slasher film in the final act. Even so...the first two acts, combined with the film's last ten minutes, still make it one of my favorite movies released in 2007.

I was so mad about the ending of Deathly Hallows Part 2. They nailed the beginning of the movie. The final scene was BUTCHERED.

I'm writing a script right now that sounds a lot like that. Big sci fi film in the first 2 acts, absolute slasher flick at the end.

Sunshine's score alone almost makes up for that final act. Ill submit High Tension, I was so pissed.

I'll submit that Sandler flick Funny People. I thought the first half was very funny then the last 45 mins I was wondering wtf happened to the movie I was watching for the first hour.
