For me it's Uhtred - The Last Kingdom

I won't go into details because of spoilers but it seems like he was never truly accepted by his father, priest, adopted father, king, best friend, wife,..etc, etc.

Severus Snape

Uh, nope!

Spoilers:

He fed info directly to the Dark Lord that led to the death of his childhood friend, who he loved. If Voldemort would have picked Neville, would Snape have said anything? Probably not. It isn't discussed directly, but I think Dumbledore made Snape make a magical vow to protect Harry.

I thought this was an OML post. Not so. (A good thing)

Good take on this!

Homer Simpson or Michael Scott

Both are extremely annoying people, but are both extraordinarily genuine.

Jeremy Renner as Mayor Carmine Polito in American Hustle comes to mind. Here was a emotional guy who loved his town and it's people and desparately wanted to help them, even if it meant making shady deals. It was all for the people of Camden, but he got destroyed because of it.

Clark W. Griswold- He is just a guy who wants to do something nice for his family, but screws it up through a series of hilarious events.

Deep down, he loves his family, and they love him. The All American dad, Clark W. Griswold.

That was worded weird. I know.

I meant that that level of detail and interesting opinion reminded me of your post.

And that was a good thing.

I respect your drama opinions.

Herbie Stemple on Quiz Show- guy basically has the attitude and intellect of the prototypical OT-er, but man did he get screwed by those guys at NBC.

Ah wait, I'm just now realizing that he was in on the whole thing too. It might actually be that Charles Van Doren, played by Ralph Fiennes, is the most sympathetic character in the movie.

Cool, same.

One that pops out in my mind is Prince Zuko. Shithead father burns him alive and emotionally scares him, grandfather puts a hit on him, his mother was banished from him perminantly, sister constantly tries to kill him, gets banished for saving a battalion of child soldiers, is looked at as a traitor by his nation, and despised by the rest of the world simply for being Hitler's son. Only thing he has going for him is his uncle.
