Can't trust a video game movie, I don't care who's in it. ESPECIALLY an ubisoft video game movie.

You will hate it no matter what.

He was created for the movie.

It's being directed by Kurzel, which is a huge plus
The script has been rewritten multiple times, which is a huge negative

Why call the movie Assassin's Creed if you're not gonna use a story from the game?

I'm very skeptical and I'm the only person I know who loves these games. Fassbender is a great actor, but like you the rewrites scare me. Every game has been it's own movie, so it shouldn't be a difficult formula. Take a very controversial character in history, dramatize his possible evil doings, then throw in some really bad guys that we will love watching get sneak stabbed in the jugular. Can make as many of them as they want as long as they role out decent stories, great action, and don't skimp on the settings. Exploring these cities as they were at their heights is one of the highlights of the franchise.

Assassin's Creed games don't use the same Assassin for every game, why should the movie be restricted to using one from the games that limit the story they can tell?
Ubisoft and rewrites definitely scare me for this movie.

To date, Fassbender has been amazing in every role.
My prediction: He'll either make this movie outstanding beyond anyone's expectations or it'll break his career.

Naw. Even if it is complete donkey spittle it will still make a ton of money and will allow him to continue to do smaller, lesser known films.

It might surprise you to know that some great movies have been made after many script revisions.
Back to the Future
Alien
Iron Man
Gladiator
The Matrix
Star Wars
Batman
The Avengers
Now, the video game aspect does scare me, though.

Are they going to use the futuristic aspect of the series? Or is it just 100% set in some old time? Cause that's how it could be awesome is using the future and using Fassbender as the main guy and going back and being these different assassins. (Or however the storyline actually works)

Jaws had a tremendous amount of script revisions. The script was still being rewritten while they were in the middle of shooting.
And it turned out to be one of the greatest American films ever produced.

Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.
Will be interesting to see how they continue. No way they are thinking of less than 3 movies.

I never liked the whole new era, I wish the games just focused on the Assassin. I really wish they would spin off the pirate game into it's own game not focusing on Assassins/Templars. Get rid of some of the fighting that is AC related.

I agree but the movie is already written. Why not just use the existing story and roll with it? It was an amazing story from the start in trying to find the Apple and keeping it away from the Templars.

i have really enjoyed all of them except 3. I never could get into 3 and even dropped back and tried a replay after falling back in the love with 4 and 3 still sucked.

Exactly. AC2 had a pretty good story and Ezio's full story covers three games. They should have done the story from AC2 and if that was a hit they could do the full trilogy. I actually wouldn't mind if they left out the future stuff. That would be too confusing in a movie.

Why do they almost always change the characters name.
Callum Lynch is one of the worst movie names of all time
