Just got out of the movies and surprisingly it was actually better then the first one.
The ending did leave it open for the final one but it wasn't incredibly stupid like the first one's ending. They actually do explain a little bit about why the kids are so important but still not why they needed the damn maze. There's actually a twist at the end which I actually liked.

The first one had a Lord of the Flies feel while this one had a Last of Us feel with the Fireflies being the government

Do they still just have the one chick? In the real world, that would have caused an instant death match scenario.

I just watched the 1st maze runner a couple of days ago and while I had many questions the one that bugged me was, if they don't remember anything before entering the maze but their name, how in the frick did they know what a girl was? when she appeared in the box they immediately knew she was a girl. if their whole memory consists of their names and existing in a world with nothing but men it seems like they shouldn't know what a girl is

I mean they knew how to survive, hunt, and form a simple government. So it's not that big of a surprise

they also seemed to know they had parents so I guess they have selective memory loss

Damn. Wish I hadn't read that.

I think I'll just wait for the video release. The first one was not that great.

You walked out of a movie? And now you want someone to tell you how it ended?

So you didn't like the movie enough to sit through until the end, but you liked it enough to maybe watch the next one? You book readers are a strange bunch.

Well, they also seemed to remember basic societal values and language, not to mention rudimentary survival and construction skills. It's not like they came out a total blank slate, just don't seem to remember their own personal pasts, other than their names.

I didn't read the book so maybe this is why my opinion is so different

SPOILERS

Basically Wicked came and started to round up everyone expect Thomas, Brenda, and George. Thomas tells them to leave while he confronts Jensen.

He gets captured until Brenda and George come back and try to rescue everyone. Of course only a few make it and the Kristen Stewart clone leaves with Wicked.

Thomas, Newt, the black guy, Brenda, and George are the only main characters to not get caught

I just saw it. It was very good. What I liked was the behavior of the boys. No whining, no acting helpless, no cliche shite. Just reacting forcefully and being proactive. When they see a gun, they actually pick it up and use it. Kinda refreshing.

The ending was kinda hokey though.

Yeah that's a strange thing. I'm not telling him how it ended when he could've just watched it.

It's certainly NOT a movie deserving of being walked out on.

Just got out and thought it was good. My friend read the books and went with us. He said the movie is completely different from the book.

To answer your question about why they had to put them in the maze. The survival instinct is only way the brain produces the enzymes for thr "cure"

i read the first one and loved it and have Scorch Trials sitting in my to-do list (which is about 40 books high right now) but haven't gotten to it due to the WoT series. I really want to read it before watching this though.

So your telling me that at the end of the movie they all don't get on the helicopter with wicked and that the man in white doesn't tell Thomas he is immune to the flare.

I hate to sound like "that guy who read the books" but I thought Scorch Trials was a lot better than Maze Runner. Scorch Trials was a lot more intense. Spoiler, the third book was my least favorite.

Good to hear, I actually liked the first one. I had no idea what it was going into it.
