Just watched both, I am missing something in the plot line. Why did they put the kids through the whole maze test when the whole point of keeping them around is to use the kids' blood or whatever to create medication for the virus? The maze does nothing but possibly kill immune kids that they need to make medication.

They needed kids who were able to show signs of intelligence and success under absurd stress, if I recall.

Yea, they had to try and trigger the kid's brains under certain stress levels to get them to where they were able to manufacturer the cure. Best not to think too much into it, as the story is all sorts of messed up.

Aye, I really struggled through the second movie. enjoyable flicks, but like he said, don't think too much about it.

In the books, they were somehow mapping their brains. They thought it would allow them to figure out a permanent cure. The scorch was another test in the books.

As for what they were trying to do in the movies... I've got no clue.

Haha, good insight and advice, thanks to all. I enjoyed them too, I will just leave the bigger questions alone and enjoy the ride.
