Marvel has tapped “Mississippi Grind” helmers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck to direct the upcoming tentpole.
Since announcing that the Oscar winner would be playing the titular superhero, the studio has taken its time in finding the film’s director, initially courting several women to take the helm.

I hope it turns out that Kathryn Bigelow had no interest in directing a Captain Marvel movie.

Mississippi Grind is as far from a superhero film as anything (other than featuring Ryan Reynolds, and Ben Mendelsohn from Dark Knight), but everyone needs to see it. Great little film.
At least we know these two kids are capable of telling a great story.

It's kind of amazing how spot on their read on directors seem to be. The Russos were a very strange pick for Captain America when that was announced and now they are helming Infinity Wars.
