Watched this the other night. It's pretty tough to get through but I knew what I was getting into going in so I actually appreciated the plot a little more than if I would've gone in without expectations.

It's very good until you get to the flashing black screen part. That was supposed to be a metaphor for something I'm sure but I didn't like it.

I'm currrently watching a pretty girl get tortured.
I'll stick it out because there's not much time left but this movie had a ton of potential at the start. It's fallen apart with what was accurately described as torture porn.

Great movie, not torture porn at all. May be the best horror movie of its era. The French horror scene of the early 00s was great.

Help me out. How was the ending so great? What message is being sent with the cult and Madamoiselle?

They were pushing her to the edge of death so she could see what was on the other side and tell them. The ending is open to interpretation. Maybe she saw heaven and said it was awesome so the old lady killed herself to get there quicker. Maybe she saw nothing and the old lady realized she had nothing to live for. Maybe she saw hell and Satan invited the old lady to hang out with him. Its an interesting concept to me and I like the open ending.

Yeah, I thought it was a terrific movie.
