I've been hearing good things about this one for a while so I finally decided to take the plunge.

You have to love British shows. They use some really UGLY actors and the poor lighting doesn't help.

Overall, I like the show, but the Lutherian leaps of logic are annoying at times. Also seems he wouldn't be in so much trouble if he just TOLD people what the hell was going on.

The whole angle with his partner was weak especially the "Meet" scene. Knowing that snipers were pointed at him, why did he keep reaching in his pocket? No reason to do that other than to contrive tension. Weak.

I did really like the last 2 episodes of season 2. All gun control idiots should be forced to watch those episodes.

Yes, it is just a tv show, but it shows how powerless people would be if only the criminals had weapons.

Those 2 punks would have been dead in their first attack if someone around them had a gun.

Heck, in the US, a convenience store guy would have ended the episode in 3 minutes pulling out his gun and wasting the punk.

A security guard in the US would have stopped the office building massacre.

End political rant.

Overall, good show. I probably like Prime Suspect more but I tend to like all British crime dramas. The accents class up the shows.

Yeah I agree its pretty strong, but a little contrived.

Check out Foyle's War.

Honestly, Idris Elba makes the show for me. The writing is kind of weak, but Elba just chews scenery nonstop. And don't you dare call Elba ugly myth. Don't you dare.

I wasn't speaking of Idris but... just about everyone else.

Also funny that Luther's wife is killed. That chick has died in everything I have seen her in.

Hell, they would have been dead if anyone there wasn't freaking retarded. One dude with a hammer taking out large groups of people, give me a break.

I dunno, I think Ruth Wilson as Alice is pretty good looking, and the whore/porn star kid's bitch mom is pretty good looking as well.

I burned through this series the past couple days, and I thought it was pretty good stuff. Elba and Ruth Wilson have pretty much carried it though.

Yes. I may be biased because I love Foyle's War.
Great show. Excellent show, with great story writing, acting and WWII period sets.

If you love British crime dramas like I do, also checkout:

Midsomer Murders
Inspector Gently
Inspector Lewis (hell, Morse too, they do love their inspectors in Britain don't they?)
Death in Paradise
DCI Banks

Well I loved it right away. The lead actor gives one of the most authentic and subtle performances I think I have ever seen on TV.

I have not finished the whole series, but yes Id say the first few get better.

Michael Kitchen. Puts on an acting clinic.
Martin Shaw as George Gently is a close second.

I love British dramas, but I did get bored Foyle's War. I made it through the 1st season but wasn't really drawn back.

Might just be me tho.
