Very funny scene and very funny movie. Should've seen it a long time ago.

Dick Shawn was a brilliant standup comedian who deserves to be better remembered.
He anticipated Andy Kaufman's meta-style by 20 years.

He died on stage. The audience left him there for five minutes because they assumed it was a Kaufmanesque part of the act.
I was bummed that LSD didn't make it into the stage production and the film remake. I guess he was too much of a 60's character.
