Wanting to wind down the 4th weekend with a good movie. What are some good movies on Netflix right now?

I like crime, suspense, drama type of movies. Something on the serious side. I'll also watch a good documentary.

"Beasts of No Nation" is an excellent drama

"Hush" is one of the better horror/thrillers I've seen the last few years

If you want your heart ripped out by a documentary, "Dear Zachary" is powerful.

This is assuming you've seen most of tGOAT movies on Netflix like Gladiator and The Exorcist.

People keep saying this but it's such a rip off of I spit on your grave and any 80s slasher film. Blatant.

Spoilers..

Wtf...a girl rents a cabin out in the woods to write a novel she's working on. And all of her friends and associates are killed off 1 by 1 by a killer who shows up in a mask.

Other than the fact she's deaf..i guess I'm missing something.

Now, have you not seen the original I spit on your grave or any slasher film?

Watching now.

I imagine that shite for brains would have a different plan if he looked through the glass and saw her pointing a Glock at him.

Other than the fact that Bruce Willis was actually dead the whole time, the Sixth Sense is just another genetic haunting film.

That's you. That's what you sound like.

How is that similar to a girl getting raped and left for dead and coming back to exact her revenge in increasingly disturbing ways? The chick in hush was always the victim. Completely different than the story of revenge isoyg was.

And it wasn't anywhere close to a 80s slasher

How many other films do you know of that open with a girl renting an isolated cabin deep in the woods to write her novel? She was a victim, but turned the tables on the would be killer, she lives. He dies. There was no rape, I'll give that.

And a guy showing up in a mask to murder people one at a time while our female heroine helplessly watches, only to barely prevail at the end..is about as 80s slasher as it comes.

If you were to interview the director I'm sure hed say he was paying homage.

Hush was interesting because of the deaf angle, alone. There were some really interesting and different moments in that movie because of her being deaf. I can not believe you would compare it to a revenge film and a slasher flick. It is fine if you didn't like the movie (it certainly wasn't perfect) but I don't think you even know why you didn't like it.

I wish I had something to recommend but I haven't used Netflix for movies in a while, they rarely have anything new that I didn't already see. I use it mostly for TV shows so I am giving Marcella a try.

I'm tired of arguing. I just went and bought a few I spit on your grave dvds, the Friday the 13th series, sleep away camp and a few more to put in a pillow case and wreck arse.

I'm about to be at sonic so I can sit on the roof of my vehicle and start waiting.
