I get the feeling Disney went overboard on this one turning it into a drama/comedy like Pirates of the Caribean

it wasn't Disney as much as the director. i know they shut down production once to get the budget under control, and it may have been twice. the director basically said, "i made y'all billions on POTC, i'm doing whatever the frick i want"

i think this movie ends up costing $300M+ in its production budget, and Disney will act like it is in the $250M range

Any links for reduced budget? Everything I've read said it bounced back to $250mil after the initial budget cut.

On my phone, but I'll try to find it later. Don't forget about how shady Hollywood accounting is.

He'll Man of Steel "cost" about $250 million for WB even though the actual production was closer to $215 million because they rolled past expenses into the budget for this production.

Intersting that Disney made Tonto into some sort of weird looking tribal guy. He was a Native American Indian. Looks fricking awful

An actual tribe chief liked what he saw so much that he made Depp an honorary member.

Seriously? Do you have a link to that story? I'm not doubting you or anything, I just want to read about it and all.

he Lone Ranger movie when I was a kid (and looking back, it was pretty bad
i looked it up just for kicks b/c i liked it too and had all of the action figures that came with it. it like swept the Razzies that year and the guy that played the lone ranger never acted again. apparently he barely spoke english or had a huge accent because the dubbed his voice for the movie.

If it's from the team that brought you Pirates...

forget it...

I've always wanted to see another one done though since I saw the original way back...in the 80's.

I wanted this film to be good! I was a huge LR fan as a kid. I have been a JD fan over the years, too. I am not holding my breath, but the trailers make the movie seem too goofy!

Ok seriously, who the hell is going to see this?
I don't know, I thought that Dark Shadows look hideous and heard it was, but then I saw it and it wasn't so horrible at all. In fact, it was pretty darn funny.
