Honest question, if Hugh Jackman doesn't become a big fan of the character, does Fox even bother to make this movie? Like, I get that they will keep making Wolverine movies until they stop making money. But is it THIS movie? Or is it another shitty adaptation of a comic book story?

I was thinking it was the dudes head as well, which would be fricking badass.

Yes, please.

Looks great. Apparently, Logan and Professor X are going to just be broken down old men in this. (And I have a bad feeling one or both of them will be dead at the end of this, being that Hugh Jackman has said he's hanging up the claws.)

There's been rumors that Mr. Sinister would appear in this film, but it's not happening...

quote:

Talking to CinemaBlend about why Sinister isn't in the movie, explained that he wanted to avoid, "the kind of operatic highly-costumed, stroboscopic villainy" that's usually part of comic book adaptations. "[T]hat’s not in this movie. Everything is kind of as real as we can make it," he added in regards to Sinister. "The movie is trying to kind of take a step backward from that kind of spectacle, so that we get another kind of gain, you know. There’s that loss, but the gain is that the movie feels extremely real and is — as one person who saw the film said to me, ‘I feel like I could go down the street and run into that Wolverine.’ Meaning that this is in my world, not some shiny other world. This is actually taking place in my world."

I like the sound of this. The Wolverine could have been excellent if they had followed this advice.

Wonder if they go with another Stryker cameo in lieu of Sinister.

I really think this is gonna be a well made movie, but am I the only one that think it looks like a slog. Like The Road, with a moment or two of levity.

International Trailer

Professor X dropping F bombs

It's weird seeing these PG-13 characters swearing like R rated characters. It's gonna be jarring, but I'll be there opening weekend.

I heard today that this could be there first super hero movie to get best picture consideration. Having Jackman (who has a golden globe and a best actor oscar nomination) and Stewart who are two very respected actors will help a lot.

Fox is going to out-reality DC. Awesome.

i know it's arguable, but Dark Knight made them change criteria.

that being said, as much as i love comic book movies, this one is as high hopes as i have for some artistic film.

there are some that 100% nailed what they were going for. i.e. GotG, IM, Dark Knight, Deadpool, and CA:WS are the few that i would put as just good movies, not even good comic book movies.

Wolvie was my favorite and i actually have hopes that they're going to do this right.

Hopefully Stewart can get a nomination for this, or his for his role as the Poo emoticon in that upcoming film.

I get the feeling that Professor X might just be a figment of Wolverine's imagination from watching the trailer. He's always sitting back (yes I know he's paralyzed) and giving words of wisdom. Kind of an internal struggle.

Am I completely off base here?

I was wondering the same. Whether he is imagined or some sort of mental projection. At the same time there is a moment in the first trailer that implies he was really there, where Logan is holding a shovel.

Not at all, that's actually a pretty common theory.
