I, too, just recently started watching this show and finished through Season 8 just last week.
And I agree with everything you said.
Penny is a bitch. She is honestly at her best in the episodes where they focus on her connection with Sheldon. That seems like the most genuine friendship in the whole show.
Leonard is a weak, whiny douche. He has no redeeming qualities to me.
Wallowitz is ok, but I just don't like his character.
Rahj is too weird now.
Amy is my favorite character outside of Sheldon. I think she and Sheldon are the two most genuine characters on the show.
Bernadette is one of the hottest female characters I've ever seen and I enjoy watching her just for that reason. I also think her character is pretty funny.

Agreed. She was great starting out. She's become absolutely horrible in the later seasons. I stopped watching partly because of how sarcastic and negative she is all of the time. She acts superior to the guys when she has the least going for her.

They show them on reruns everyday now, how could you be that late to the show, and yes it is getting a little stale and they need to think about ending it but it did have it's moments and having Penny and Leonard together is bad for the show.

I liked the show a lot more in the early seasons, but I find it's still pretty decent.

That would make any show with a laugh track seem terrible. They intentionally have long pauses for the laughs.
I never really hated BBT until TBS started playing 8 episodes back to back everyday. Now I despise it.

Ironically its the TBS marathons that got me watching it
I was in a hotel room relaxing and had the TV on and Big Bang Theory was playing. At first it was background noise but then I started to pay attention.

Before then, i flipped it on, and thought it was horrible.
Finally gave it another shot, great show, although with everyone having gfriends, it kind of takes away from the greatness of the show.
Go back and watch the old episodes and the stuff penny wears. Talk about having ur head lights on. She showed nips, on many episodes, on a few, her headlights were on high beam.

As much as I hate HIMYM, I have never jumped into a thread that discussed the plot of the show claiming it was a pile of shite.
Now if it was a thread discussing the greatness of the show then might post once or twice giving my 2 cents.

Remember Penny/Kaley was the known commodity. Leonard was just a mid sized role in Roseanne.
Penny had the whole 8 Simple Rules girl grown up thing going. Show centered around her and how nerds interacted with her.
Then people found how funny Parsons is as an actor.
