I love everything this guy does. Save for the "Snake Plissken" crap. Those movies were not good. But he has a very respectable list of movies.

The Duke of New York does not agree with this. I happen to like those movies, although Escape from LA was a bit of a let down. Still, Overboard and Big Trouble in Little China are awesome late night movies to watch.

The Thing.
Anyone remember the Disney movies he did as a young man? They were probably the first non-animated movies I saw as a kid. One was called The World's Strongest Teenager, the other was The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes. There might have been a third. They all had the same plot: something happened to a high school/college kid to make him super smart or super strong. I've had an urge for a while to try and dredge them up on Netflix.

Interesting bit from the Imdb entry on him:

Kurt Russell landed a part in the Elvis Presley movie, It Happened at the World's Fair (1963), when he was 10-years-old. In 1960, Walt Disney himself signed Russell to a 10-year contract. Once his stint as a child actor ended, he spent the early 1970s playing minor league baseball

Awesome in Backdraft..... he once played a jungle boy on Gilligans Island

He effectively directed Tombstone. The guy listed as director, George Cosmatos, was really just a figurehead while Russell kept the whole thing going. The only scenes he didn't direct I think were some of the ones with Charlton Heston near the end.

"Yessir, the check is in the mail."
