KRAMPUS: Two Weeks Too Late

I know there are other threads, but after begging the girlfriend to go see this with me, I finally said, "frick it!," and went on my own.
This movie was great! Where was it during Halloween when all I had was Crimson Peak and some shitty Paranormal sequel?
Pacing was awesome. Just enough gore. Nice tension. Tight story. Solid creature creation. Nice "frick you" open-ended ending.
Reminds me of a cross between Gremlins and Evil Dead 2.
I would pay the 9 bucks again to see it in theaters.
But I do wish there was more Krampus.
But the lack of a "present" villain kind of added to the feel of the movie.
I also liked the cast was comprised of primarily comedic actors. I don't know why, but that gave their performances something a little extra (maybe because the audience doesn't expect that from them.)

I was kind of disappointed. Crimson Peak was a lot better.

"just enough gore"
Lol, there was no gore.
I think I honestly tricked myself into liking it a bit more than I did. It was pretty good but I can't help but feel like there's something missing. Things seemed a little rushed.

Gore meaning gratuitous violence. Everything happened off screen and the only thing that got fricked up was a teddy bear. But you can say the same thing about Gremlins.
I wanted more Krampus and evil elves, but this was a low budget movie. That definitely played a role in creature effects.
As for Crimson Peak, that was the biggest piece of shite I've ever wasted money on. A two and a half hour melodrama where the plot was apparent in the first 15 minutes. DON'T DRINK THE TEA!

It's a Christmas horror so not sure why it would air around Halloween

I get that but there was literally nothing this Halloween other than Crimson Peak which was a melodrama disguised as a horror movie.
I wish they would do a one weekend or one night release of something like Krampus and then re-release it in December. I think word of mouth would boost ticket sales.

I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Michael Dougherty is the king of holiday horror

it could have been a classic if they had went with the attic scene theme in 3D the entire movie
