The hiring comes just as additional photography, with director Joss Whedon standing in for Zack Snyder, for the movie gets underway in London. Whedon is overseeing the new shoot and postproduction work on Justice League after Snyder stepped aside to deal with a family tragedy.
Snyder had been working with Antonius Tom Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL, on the movie. Holkenborg, who scored Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and counts movies like Mad Max: Fury Road and Deadpool among his credits, is now moving on to Tomb Raider, according to sources.

If I say I'm not a huge fan of this does this mean I'm constantly shitting on this franchise?
Not like I haven't liked his stuff for things in the past, but he has a certain sound it seems, and I wouldn't normally have pegged THAT for JL. In most cases, I kind of liked the music for MoS and BvS, save for the opera it broke into at times near the end of BvS.
Whatever...I'll wait and see.

He did the GOAT Batman musical score back in the day, so I'll take a wait and see approach. I'm cautiously optimistic.

That Soundtrack was the first CD I ever bought and still have it...unscratched.
That being said, as much as I liked it, it sounds VERY much like a Tim Burton movie, save for the Batman theme.
But, he did score Spider-Man with Rami, but even that you could definitely tell it was his stuff.
We'll see.

This will be interesting! Elfman isn't the same eery melody composer we knew and loved in the 80's/90's. He's definitely got that touch still with a much more up-to-date sound.

His IMDB is all over the place. He's done every type of film or TV series. Most of it you wouldn't have realized it was him. He got away from the Pee Wee's Circus type of theme that was prevalent in his early work.

Yep. Two of my favorites of his. Was really disappointed in BvS but that was more the JunkieXL part I guess (I did like Mad Max though)
Can't wait to hear Zimmer's stuff for Dunkirk.

Elfman's a One trick pony.
There are several more versatile composers out there for cheaper who could write excellent scores.

I don't see a problem with this. Many will add it to the "reasons" the movie will be a flop.
