Anyone else hear "An Ideal of Hope" from Man of Steel mixed in with the music.

The last scene in the trailer:

Seems too obvious to be Superman. I'd think Alfred would say, "He said you'd be back" or "Nice to have you back" if it was Superman.

But who else could it be for it to be a big reveal?

Is Green Lantern really that popular of a superhero to be kept secret like that?

I'd say so. Doing a Justice League movie without the Green Lantern is like doing an Avengers movie without the Hulk. I'd say he's tied with the Flash under the Big 3 and certainly over Aquaman and Cyborg. It really feels as if something is missing without the Green Lantern.

I'm thinking less comic-nerd popular and more so general audience popular.

For one, Marvel took its time establish many of its lesser known characters before doing a full Avengers movie. Seeing Ironman and Thor kick arse together worked well at the box office because they each had gotten their own movie(s) prior to being asked to save Earth.

Green Lantern is going to be exciting for comic book readers but for the general audience, he'll mostly be just a new face on screen in what might be an already confusing plot (as evidenced by MoS and BvS's ability to tell a story).

To use GL as a "there's a big surprise you all need to come see" in the trailer means that DC feels that GL has a big enough draw to sell tickets. I just don't see GL as that kind of character like Superman...

...or Hulk, Spiderman, or Captain America in The Avengers.

I'm almost certain it's not GL. It's more than likely Superman, although why he feels the need to stop and see Alfred first seems a bit silly. It could turn out to be a surprise, like Nightwing perhaps.

I think it's a head fake and that's Cyborg joining up. Why would Bruce know Superman would show up? They think he's dead.

I have very tempered expectations. That trailer wasn't terrible, but it just seems like so much is being jammed into this movie. And the gratuitous nonstop slow motion CGI frick fest in that trailer annoyed me.

But Snyder is gone and they've brought on some competent people, so let's see where this goes. I like Affleck's Bat, and like an idiot I'll continue to give DC money because I'm a comic nerd.

Gets his power from the yellow sun? Already revived by the sun once?

Known Kryptonian ship with a healing tank for Kryptonians? All of Lex's research about Kryptonians?

The fact that an old kryptonian body can be used to create another Doomsday?

Nah.... Let's forget all of that and bury him underground in my backyard and forget about him.

No chance Bruce Wayne is that fricking stupid. Although the Bruce in this universe wants to kill Superman for seemingly no reason and spend tons of time and money inventing a spear to kill him and then just throws that spear in a ditch because someone uttered his mother's name.

I think so also. He isn't super confident in it, but when Gordon asks him on the roof how many of them are there, and he replies not enough, that seemed like foreshadowing to me that he knows Superman will join the team.

Reports from the set have Wonder Woman recruiting Cyborg and him joining the team in the Gordon rooftop scene.

Remember in Avengers when Hulk fought Ironman? Or in Civil War when Ironman fought Winter Soldier and Cap?

Both of those fights were full of cgi, but they weren't randomly timed slow motion gratuitous close up midfight nonsense.

I think that's the difference for me. It bothers me how these DC movies seem to expect you to care more about something because it's shown in slow motion.

To be fair, Bruce wanted to kill Superman because his career as Batman taught him to distrust anyone with power, and Superman had seemingly unlimited power. But yeah, the "Martha!" twist is my #1 worst moment in cinema history.

It's definitely two lanterns. His bourbon shakes twice like two objects landed and then there's two green lights in his glasses.

I think Diana went to the kobra Kai dojo. She sweeps the leg in every fight.

Trailer doesn't really do anything for me. I preferred the last one they did. I was hoping they would clean some of the CGI up but apparently that's not gonna happen. The one scene with aquaman destroying a whole building to body surf on one parademon just to do the landing from Legolas off the elephant in return of the king was really bad. Flash was funny but the shite he said made no sense. So he just pushes people and runs away?? I don't think they thought this through. For me the Thor and ready player one trailers were much better.

The slow-mo thing is certainly a style and DC is now kind of stuck with it since they allowed Snyder to build their universe from the start (and the dude simply can;t make a movie without it) but I think my issue with the CGI seen so often in these DC movies is that it REALLY looks fake. Like you said, it's not like Marvel isn't doing a shite ton of CGI, but they do it in such a way so as not constantly ask you to forget that it's all clearly not there. Aquaman surfing down on what I'm assuming was a paredemon and hopping out of the crushed building was just appalling. At times, it's clear that there are no real world sets and that the entire thing was shot in a hanger entirely in green screen. Throw in the fact that so much of the DC world seem to be perpetually night time and it's just too much most of the time for me.

And again...it's not like Marvel does not do the same thing...but I'm really racking my brain to find any of their that bothered me as much as most of the CGI use in the DCEU seems to. Honestly...the worst use of it so far for me was the scene in Spider-Man Homecoming when Tony took Peter's suit from him while they were standing up on that building. For whatever reason they shite that in studio and CGI'd the NYC skyline behind them, and it was obvious and very distracting. But even scenes like the fight scene to kick of Guardians 2 which is obviously all CGI simply doesn't annoy me as much as what we've gotten from DC thus far.

P.S. I want to LOOOOOOOOOOVE these DC movies and in no way is this me hating on the property or a dislike of DC in general. The fact that I want to love them so much is why it bothers me so much that I don't yet.

That has to be superman at the end, otherwise why are they acting so hard like supes isn't in the movie? I mean they already gave us the gravel picking up at the end of SvB so there is no mystery, we know he's coming back.

News that Whedon is getting a director's credit along with Snyder. Warner is now calling it "A film by Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon".
