i could see littlefinger marching the knights of the vale down there and just laying waste to the Freys. despite his resentment for Cat before her death, he loved, and always will, love her

That's how I see it going down. Maybe Sansa personally killing Walder, and then Black Walder fleeing south and being brutally killed by Nymeria's pack. Would be great if they broke bread with the Freys only to kill them all. Cersei will surely command them to march North if she hears of the Boltons troubles with Stannis and the Watch.
