Enjoyed it 10 times more than the first. Probably won't win any awards, but sure as hell kept me entertained

And Omar from The Wire plays a badass character

The first one was terrible and i went in to it with some expectations just because of the interesting premise. Did the second have the same low production/terrible acting combo?

I'm pumped to see its. Bloody-Disgusting's review said "it's everything you wanted the first movie to be"

Agreed - destroys the first movie.

Omar being in the movie was a bonus

The first one was essentially just a shitty remake of "The Strangers". I'm interested to see if this one can take things in a more unique direction.

On that same note, I've always been surprised by how underrated The Strangers actually is. I thought it was an incredibly solid horror movie, and the "Because you were home" line is one of the creepiest I've ever heard.

If Omar/Chalky is in this I might have to consider seeing it.

The strangers and The Purge are hardly alike save the fact that people wearing masks are trying to get in a house and the people inside choose to defend themselves.

Do you have to watch the first one to see this, or can I pick things up quick?

Still pisses me off. The dude ended up with a shotgun and couldn't handle business. I don't remember any of the masked folks have guns.

strangers creeps me out, I hate the rewind scene and it's so frustrating how it ends but it's still good if that makes sense.

I would be disappointed if this wasn't the case.

The first one was okay. The premise for both is pretty ridiculous, so I'm not expecting Oscar material, but I'm glad the second one portrays the premise better. I thought that I'd at least see news cops of people freaking out all over the world, but it's isolated to one place. Why they chose to cut the premises nuts off like that, I do not know.

While Michael K. Williams does play a badass character, I wouldn't go see this exclusively for that reason. Although awesome, his character did not have that much screen time.
