Not sure what I was expecting as it really wasn't anything spectacular but some fine damn performances from Hanks and Eckhart. I guess if you have an interest in the landing of flight 1549, you'll enjoy it but definitely wishing I had just waited for this one.

Solid movie. No weak points. Eastwood went with real babies this time.

Were there ever any simulations that were run giving his exact conditions post goose collision?

Do you actually live near the Dupont Circle area in DC? If so, Sully has matinee prices for $11.09 and nightly, full-priced for $13.10.

Sully is good. Clint did a great job researching with Sully and sticking to script. Tom Hanks is arguably the best big stage actor of the last 20 years.

Haha I remember leaning over to my GF at the time saying "I think that is a fake baby"

She then blurts out in the movie theatre "OMG that is a fake baby"

I had to step out out of the theatre in order to control my laughter.

I know one thing if I ever see him get on a plane, train, or boat I'll wait for the next one.

Was ok, nothing special. Felt like the script and editing held it back.

I saw it last weekend.

It didn't really feel like a film. What I mean is that it didn't flow. It just felt like several different scenes randomly thrown on screen.

However, the scenes were well acted and entertaining.

I don't know how to describe it. It's an entertaining film that is well acted and "looks good", but something about it is just off

From Wikipedia:

quote:

The NTSB ran a series of tests using Airbus simulators in France, to see if Flight 1549 could have returned safely to their choice of LaGuardia Airport (LGA), either runway 13 or 22, or Teterboro Airport (TEB) runway 19. The test pilots were fully briefed on the series of events and maneuvers. The test pilots were only able to return successfully to either airport in eight of 15 attempts. The NTSB report noted that these test conditions were unrealistic: "The immediate turn made by the pilots during the simulations did not reflect or account for real-world considerations..." A single follow-up simulation was conducted where the pilot was delayed by 35 seconds: He crashed trying to return to LGA runway 22.[96]
