I actually didn't watch this show for a few years now and I'm glad I waited to binge watch even though I didn't really intend to do that.

All in all, it's a really solid show and I'm definitely looking forward to Season 5 although it appears to be in space now and I'm hoping that means the majority of the season will be far from Earth.

Spoilers will be discussed in a set of points so therefore you're warned.

1.) I honestly thought the Grant Ward betrayal arc at the end of season 1 was so well done. I was shook so hard and so beyond angry at him I was praying beyond that Coulson wouldn't listen to his better angels and frick him up really good. He really had me fooled. That moment of betrayal was like WTF where he just looked at Victoria Hand and Garret and went like yeah it's time to do this shite. Good movies and shows that get you emotionally invested like that are worth watching.

2.) I really love the idea of how tied to the movies this show is and they even bring in Director Fury and Maria Hill sometimes and how they subtly influence events in the movie sometimes like finding where Loki's scepter is and Coulson fixing up the helicarrier the avengers would use against Ultron.

3.) Daisy Johnson is literally Avengers material playing small ball at SHIELD when she could step up her game big time with some more modifications to her gauntlets from Tony Stark.

4.) The Tahiti protocol was a very good storyline and something that provided a backbone for Ward's betrayal story. Just so we're clear, the alien that was found at the Tahiti facility was in fact Kree right?

5.) I just can't believe that Marvel would actually use Hive on TV instead of the movies when he's literally the goddamn founder of Hydra itself and ranks ahead of Red Skull and any other Hydra head. I think a great movie could've been made with Captain America fighting Hive on multiple planets.

6.) And lastly, SHIELD has no business operating in the public eye like they're the FBI or DEA. It's a mistake that only handcuffs them as the battles they fight are usually fought in the shadows. When those battles fall out into the light, the Avengers are there for that. Completing their mission and stated objectives becomes much more effective and easier when SHIELD is so top secret of a spy agency that not even the POTUS has any clue they exist at all.

The arrangement they had with Talbot in the first half of season 2 was a perfect middle ground to preserve SHIELD's anonymity and still work with street level government actors who are on a need to know basis like Talbot. Not the full blown glad handling bullshite with giving members of Congress tours of the base and public ceremonies.

Hopefully Coulson had some more secret bases built while he was rebuilding SHIELD so they can abandon the playground in Virginia as its already compromised as too many people know about it from people in Congress, to the military and bad guys as well. I really liked the secret base, Providence, in the Canadian Wilderness as you can't get more off the grid untraceable than that.

I wish they would not have killed off the young black guy, and ran off Hunter and Bobbi.

One thing that is still off is that they are pretty openly known now, shield that is, and nothing has been mentioned to the fact that Coulson is alive by any avenger. He was in every one of their movies, played a pivotal role in bringing them together. Why cant one of them drop in for a second and say something quippy?

I've loved the story arcs of each season, and Grant ward needs to come back to the show. And Coulson needs to stick it in May.

I really liked Triplet. He was a good guy and it was a pleasure seeing him again in the framework.

I think I heard rumors that Hunter may be coming back for a few episodes next season.

And that was a mistake.

SHIELD by their very nature is not an agency that's designed to operate in the public like they're the FBI or DEA.

They should've stayed so top secret not even the President, Pentagon and Congress have any idea they exist at all as they were much more effective and efficient that way.

Legit plothole.

Apparently Marvel has a long standing policy against an Avenger appearing on any of Marvel's small screen shows.

The closest they've come is Director Fury, Maria Hill and Sif from Asgard all making an appearance on this show. No idea if they've done that for any of the Netflix shows.

They had no choice after the events of Winter Soldier, correct? Black Widow put all their info on the internet.

I think/hope it will return to a more secret agency this season.

The show took most of season one to find it's footing, but once it did it became a pretty consistently good show, with this past season being excellent with them doing multiple arcs in a season. Gets rid of the filler episodes making it more like a PG version of the Netflix shows.

Them and Ward. The writers not using the Darkhold to bring Ward back was a mistake.

I like most of the current cast but they do tend to write off the best one's for some reason. Well, "for some reason" other than Hunter & Bobbi. They were supposed to get a spin-off. Their last episode was a good one.

which is so stupid to me. Why would you not want to try to help make your subsidiary shows be more popular? You let RDJ stand in front of a green screen for a few minutes and record a 30 second conversation between him and Coulson and put that on AOS. The guy has money coming out of his arse, spend 10 minutes recording this and be on your way. Makes you even more popular and helps the brand that is Marvel, not that it's needed that much.
After they acknowledge each other, Coulson can give Daisy some updgraded wrist thingys and say they were a gift from an old friend.
Do a funny short with Thor and Coulson, doesn't even need to be on the show.

The movies don't need to acknowledge the shows, but the shows should have more interaction with the characters from the movies. And when i say more, i simply mean a one liner every so often acknowledging they exists and are aware of them.
There's no way Tony Stark doesn't know about Shield, or Daredevil, or Luke Cage, or Iron Fist, or Daisy. If he could find Spiderman, he would have found the netflix characters.

Last Season was pretty great (maybe the best overall season yet) and the end lends itself to a stellar upcoming seasons. I hope they keep going.

One thing that stood out last season was when Fitz broke up with the AI lady. Her screaming scared the shite out of me lol.

I just discovered this show and binged it this year, thought that is was very well done, especially after season 1 set up got finished. Definitely agree with how it gets you emotionally invested and this show brings so many interesting themes and questions to a head and has so much air time that you really get to delve deep.

Some additional commentary on your points below.

3. I think you underestimate Daisy and she doesn't need any modifications from Tony. She is trying to figure out who she is and where she fits in and doesn't want to be a member of the Avengers. Shield has the same goal of saving the world so not sure how it is small ball.

4. Yes blue dude was a Kree

5. TV series are better than the movie for this type of thing. Love the set up of this with 22 episodes of 45 minute on air time each. But getting to delve into Hive, his interaction with Daisy and stuff like her withdrawals when he leaves and asks him to take her back, his goals ("i just wanted to help at the end" before their shuttle gets blown up), his entire history, how he comes to earth this time, etc. No way you can capture all of that as well as have him fighting on multiple planets in a three hour movie.

6. They had to operate in the public to keep operating and maintain their budget. It was a major theme of the story line in both this series as well as in Civil War. I think now that most of that has been blown up by Hydra they will be looking to go back in the shadows more and this upcoming season is set up for some good stuff.

I disagree, i don't think you need to have them thrown in there just to generate interest. Agents of Shield is good enough to stand on its own and not need pointless easter egg bullshite that really doesn't serve a purpose.

Honestly, I like AOS better than most all of the movies outside of Winter Soldier and a couple others.

Its ratings continue to fall. I don't care that stuff like that isn't in there that much, but it would probably help get a few more eyes on the show. I think they are doing what they can to keep it on tv, but if the viewership keeps declining, it'll get cancelled. You look at the ABC shows that were cancelled from last year, and there were several with more viewers than AOS that were cancelled. AOS is their weakest show.

This assumption doesn't appear current.

Right now, they are in compliance with the Sokovia Accords as a result of Civil War. The only HYDRA influence was through the Matrix-like Framework.

I would assume with the death of Jeffrey Mace that they are moving closer to the Comic Book canon in which Daisy Johnson becomes Director of SHIELD.

I loved how cheesy as frick his slogans were and yet they were and still are so true.

"A team that trusts is a team that triumphs!"

"A team divided is a team defeated!"

It would be quite the turn of events.

They could've brought the Ward from the Framework back into the real world and it would be a much different Ward and he would have so much to learn about the real world.

I still wouldn't trust him but he's a man of many talents that SHIELD could use.

Haha im probably wrong - I don't follow the whole marvel universe and just thought they were gonna be going away from the public eye from the brief look we got at the end of last season.
