Honestly sad to see it end....Seriously the best show in terms of "getting better" as it progresses. Ron Swanson is my favorite sitcom character ever (Sorry Barney Stinson).

Can we get a start-up or GoFundMe for them to make new seasons or just get Netflix to do a Ron Swanson spinoff show where he runs the National Park and the other stars guest-star periodically. I'm sure Jerry/Larry/Garry and Donna would be down for full time roles

I think it was clear by the time it was over that it was time to end the show. Aziz and Pratt moved on to bigger and better things and the show was missing continuity bc of it and it turned into the Leslie Knope destroys freedom show

Love the show to death but we don't need an extension

It's one episode. He shuts it down.

I couldn't disagree much more. Ron Swanson was increasingly emasculated and Leslie would have been Empress of the World if there had been another season. And Craig - awful.

Tom was always a good character.
Knope was always one of the worst.
What's amazing is Andy. He started out as a throwaway a-hole ex boyfriend and borderline creepy stalker, then become a lovable dumbass, and then Pratt became an A-list megastar.
I loved the show but some of the characters held it back. Knope wasn't funny but she did keep plots moving and set up jokes. Jerry was a good butt of jokes. Donna was fairly worthless. Chris (Lowe) wasn't that funny. Anne wasn't funny. And the lamest character became more prominent as he and Knope got together.

In the end, the show was carried by Tom, Andy, and Ron Swanson and those characters didn't quite have enough depth and nuance to keep it going, even if those actors weren't moving on to bigger things.

Andy was supposed to be a part time character originally

Jean Ralphio helped carry it at times too

And it's clear he was written early on that way. But he just kinda hung around. I think it was when he lived in that pit that he became more likable.

One of my favorite shows. I do feel that they went 1 season too far. (I think their second to last season was supposed to be their last, but they ended up doing 1 more).

The last season was good, but I feel like the season ending for the second to last season was damn near perfect.

Scrubs suffered from the same thing.

Scrubs actual ending was so perfect that I don't even mind the med school season (a lot of people on here really like that season btw)

It was a fine enough season. But the original series finale was just so perfect. Might as well have labeled the med school season as a full blown spin-off instead of trying to make it another season.

I think it was supposed to be a spin off but the only way they would get ratings would be to bring in the regular cast and eventually they were brought in so much that it was like they were a prominent member of the cast

JD and Turk were the worst part of the season. Well, also trying to come up with a new Jan-I-Tor with the horrible security guys.

I liked the Med students. The old cast members sucked and turning Turk actually gay with his comment about Elliot "getting" to see JD naked, that came out of nowhere.

I liked the show less and less after Rob Lowe and the other guy were added, and finally I quit watching after Ron towed the grill. I've tried to make "towed the grill" a thing like "jumped the shark" but to my disappointment, I have not succeeded to date.
