That last episode got me right in the feels.

How the hell is Moriarty "back"? That creepy bastard. I've also read they're going to have a Christmas episode for 2015 (that will apparently deal with the cliffhanger) and Season 4 in 2016.

I didn't like the last episode.
Holmes is not a killer. And the Moriarity thing was stupid, imo.
The other episodes of that season were excellent.

I liked how they never explained how he got out of the jump. I liked how everyone tried to figure it out. Since there was no way to explain it, this was actually the best way to go about it.

I hated the last episode. The whole BLACKMAIL INFO is in his mind vault. How fricking stupid!

Moriarty! Even worse.

Conan Doyle never explained it either so they stayed true to form with that. It was just an "OK sherlock is awesome, he made it work, you know he could."

Season 3 was definitely a big step down from the first two seasons. Well, the hounds of Baskerville episode wasn't very special. His most popular book, the just doesnt transfer on to screen very well.

Season three did have the wedding episode which might be the best one though

That was more of just a recap of the cool stuff they had done imo. I liked it though, nice twist.

I'd probably rank the episodes best to worst...
3,4,6,1,2,7,8,5,9.

Not disliking any of them.

I'm so glad you know a fiction character so well that you know exactly what he would in a fictional situation, created by a pair that probably admire Sherlock more than you.

Great stuff, would read again

It's especially funny since the literary Sherlock Holmes did kill someone (although it's up for some debate).

Appears Holmes may have killed someone in self-defense. Not outright cold blooded murder.

Tonga was likely self defense (Sign of the Four), but both he and Watson fired at the same time. IIRC, there is a big debate over whether he killed Moriarty in the books.

ETA: I've read most of the Holmes stuff many times, but it's been about a year since I last picked it up. Thanks to the American version, I need to go back and reread with Natalie Dormer as my Moriarty.

After that episode I began to think that this series may be setting it up that Mycroft is actually behind Moriarty and that the "face" of Moriarty is a pawn in his game.
I know that is a stretch but who else can match Sherlock in brainpower? The way Moriarty got taken out was...Well...Suspicious and Mycroft and Sherlock have a history of trying to outwit each other. It could just be another game Mycroft is playing-or both of them.
It's a long shot, I know, but something about how that season ended with Moriarty back got me thinking about all kinds of different scenarios and somehow Mycroft as Moriarty made sense.

And to be frank, while it may not have been textbook self-defense there's definitely some justification considering the threat to the ones he loves that he was dealing with IMO.

Didn't the literary Sherlock wrestle Moriarty off Reichenbach Falls? It's been so long since I've read any of that I couldn't remember honestly.

Yes.
Conan Doyle actually meant to kill him off then, but the popular demand for Sherlock was too much, and he had to bring him back.
