Jurassic park isn't bloated and super sized, it's perfect in scope. it's thought provoking, it has images that feed you information even if you don't know it or jeff goldblum ruins it by telling you what it is ("king kong?")

Goldblum was used perfectly here.

it's just these two words of dialogue that sticks out to me. like either speilberg thought the audience was stupid or that it wouldn't register on a subconscious level.

god I fricking hate that line it is the only bad thing I can say about this movie.

To be fair, he's a different kind of filmmaker. Buffy is not my cup of tea, but I recognize it is very well done. Firely was incredible - a true example of being "too good" for television (like Star Trek: TOS, in fact).

The first Avengers was one of my best recent film experiences.

Coming from television, he does know how to develop characters and tell a story. He does use special effects as a means to an end, rather than an end unto themselves.

So, there's that.

I remember when it came out, I was watching a movie in another theater, Jurassic Park was the loudest movie I have ever heard, you could hear the dinosaurs in other movies.

You shut your mout! He fricking sucks! and I hate his stupid bald head and stupid hipster fedora. Why won't that trend just die already.

As far as movies go, I don't think he's done anything praise worthy. He's made a couple of action loaded movies that are fun but not memorable, creative and most importantly, they don't resonate.

cabin in the woods, avengers ultron, fun movies but nothing that wants to make me revisit them beyond trying to figure out why I don't think they're very good.

Well, if you can't watch Firefly, then finish that off with an enjoyable film like Serenity, then I don't know what to tell you.

Some of the best "new" stuff to come out in years. Not a comic book, not a reboot, not a sequel, not a prequel, not a "reimagining" - but original material. And it should have gotten a 5 to 7 year run, IMHO.

Serenity.

A movie based on a cancelled tv show, that made a lot of people run out and buy the DVD of show because the movie was so good.
